skipper Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 12 starters i will take that any old day
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Ive heard about WOS JV team. question is will they win district next season?
AggiesAreWe Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 Look, I am not denying that WOS will be any good next year. I think they will have a very good team. But let's call it what it is. You cannot continue to have 16, 19, 16 returning starters every year for the past several years, it just doesn't add up. You also cannot count players who saw playing time as returning starters if they never started. WOS has 17 seniors leaving the team, 12 of which were starters (not even counting Reggie), that does not calculate to 16 starters or 90% of the team returning. Let's get our facts straight, Kerry.
skipper Posted November 29, 2010 Author Report Posted November 29, 2010 oh yes put your money on it scoot
KFDM COOP Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I'll see if i can get a Coach to post it..
AggiesAreWe Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I broadcast 3 of their games this year and attended another. I was given rosters each game with the starters marked on them. I checked them at the start of each game. According to those games I did, the facts I have stated are correct. According to the all-district lists, it matches the rosters and starters I have.Kerry, you cannot convince me that WOS has more than 10-12 starters returning based on these numbers. Sure can't convince me of that "90% returning" statement you made on that game thread of BR.

If anything we have that many kids returning that played. Cannot be starters if we had that many Sr. make all district. It just isn't possible. We may have that many returning just not necessarily starters.Did I just agree with AAW? lol

That's number depends on how much effort Stewart puts forth to recruit Townley away from BH (watch what happens here folks). Denny (Freshman starting QB) will be returning as a Sophmore and be a stud if he stays healthy. Got some real talent moving up to fill bench spots and a starting spot here and there. The lines should be loaded again. We will win district next year and get past the area round. [/quote]But most likely still able to scalp the Hill...as usual.

badndn Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 It all starts up front. This is were PNG will have the biggest challenge in replacing. If you can believe it PNG may actually big bigger up front on offense with Nicotre (6'2 260) Reasons (6'4" 270) Stasinos (6'5" 250), not sure who will fill in the other two spots, but those three are big.The losses will be tuff because they were key leaders like Lunceford and Langois on the OL and Easley, Thompson and Schexneider on D. And anytime you have to replace a record setting QB like Doty, it's tough!Returning players *2010 Starters: 8 (3 Offense - 5 Defense) ** 2010 Significant PT: 6 (3 Offense - 3 Defense)WR *Nelson - WR **Lacour - OT *Nicotre - OG Reasons - C ?? - OG ?? - OT **Stasinos - HB **Hanks - WR ?? Gasilla Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I am not defending anyone, but i will say this... 3 of the players on that list are RB's:Mitchell (Sr)Robinson (Sr)Lindsey (Jr)We run the spread and our base offense has 1 RB and AAW you know that Lindsey would be considered the "starter". So there are 2 Sr's that would not be considered "starters" on offense. On defense, Lindsey (Sr), Woodson (So) and Lynch (So) were all LB's and they had a three man rotation in the 50 defense which has only 2 LB's on the field. Even though Lindsey played a bunch, the 2 Sophomore's actually started the games. So theres another senior you can knock off the list. Also, Colin Janice is a Sophomore not a Senior, so there's another.I don't know what that makes the count, but it is something I know about the kids on that list.
Bulldog8 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Nederland should compete very well, I think they will have 10 or 11 starter returning
phunter308 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Nederland will have 10 returners on defense they started 5 to 6 sophmores 3 junoirs and 2 senoirs most times 1 senoir. Offense we will need to replace RG,RT LG,QB, and 3 receivers and the linemen will be the biggest question. Qb will be Carson Raines. The receivers will be a big question too but have some good talent moving up. Nederland should be ok but I wish they would diversify the offense and get away from the spread but hey I am just a ffan not a coach.
Kville_Kats Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Kirbyville & Jasper will merge...(And that may not be enough).. We will be called the Jasperville Wild-Dogs... ;D

He played DE on JV. Had a lot of sacks. He practiced with varsity. The DT, there are a couple of strong big kids on the JV who were very good at DT who will fit in very well. I see our D rotating alot of players in on the D line next year. With the size coming up they may adjust the D line to a 4 man line. Also we had a freshman on varsity who played in the secondary. Very fast. I also heard there may be some transfers moving into PNG district come Jan 11. One a big O lineman from Vidor. Another from our neighbors. So hard to say, but I see PNG with a more stout D next year with alot more speed.

Guest ST11 Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 I would love Silsbee to be big contenders for district title next year but only really see them getting 3rd or 4th loosing some good starters
falcolnfanatic Posted November 29, 2010 Report Posted November 29, 2010 Well let's see Huffman will lose A LOT to graduation. QB top 3 wrs entire Oline all of the secondary atleast 2 LBs and a couple Dlineman are all gone. They only bright spot will be we return both RBs one who was just a Fr and we have acouple of jrs who can throw the ball pretty good they just have no game experince. From what I head the jv did very good losing only 1 game to Kpark. Next year will be determined by how coach mac fills the positions lost. There is still plenty of talnet just not as much experince. I predict we will be in the playoffs again probably 2nd or 3rd depending on if cleveland can turn it around or if Liberty can capatilize on all of their young talent. Coldspring is the favorite to repeat as district champs.
