You missed the fact that Merka's numbers are less because he played Daytons D... how many yards does Jakari get without that excellent blocking from his Wides? To be Fair Jakari can't win MVP because he didn't play enough games, and yard wise didn't do too well. Good back he'll prolly win it next year but stat comparison not even close Merka by a Mile.

Those who argue Herrea because of his Completion Percentage etc. Recognize that's because he had 3 very good receivers who turn 2 yard passes into 16 yard passes etc. Also what did he do passing wise vs Crosby? nothing because Crosby closed the short routes and forced any pass over the top.

I'm not going to get into this who should be all district junk but this is dumb.  He did nothing passing wise against Crosby because he was too busy handing off.

Dayton's QB is not MVP caliber, sorry. He throws an okay ball sometimes, he can barely see over the line of scrimmage, weighs a buck 40 on a good day, and is not much of a threat to run the ball.

Nice first post fo5. I have only seen Merka play againg PNG, but in those games, he bounced more balls off players chest and hands than bad passes. I feel like Merkas biggest problem was lack of help. You just reinforced that opinion.

Disagree put Merka on Dayton's team we prolly go to state the past 2 yrs.The guy had very little [email protected]'m not ragging on #8 but the run threat is not there plus he fumbles alot when running and hit.3 times in the La Marque game.I saw Merka vs.PNG early and he put it in the breadbasket I can't tell you how many times and they didn't catch it.He even threw a bullet 30 yds and hit the wr in the endzone and knocked him off his feet=no catch.I don't get a vote but I'll bet he's the offensive MVP.Anybody want to bet a pink shirt that he doesn't win it ;D ;D

I will however make a very strong prediction that it is not Merka and I will go further and say he will be a tight end at TCU or transfer if he wants to QB. Merka is a fine young man and a very good athlete but he will not QB at a D-1 University.

1st team QB - Herrera
Should be 5 other Broncos on first team.
Maybe #32 from GP (the RB) and #77 OT from Crosby, the center from BH, the Richardson from Lee at WR, and that stud WR from GP would round out the first team.

Dayton should dominate defensive first team. Maybe 8 or even 9.
