L-Town Stunners Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 No prediction' date=' I JUST HOPE OUR BOYS COME OUT & TACKLE SOMEONE BEFORE THE 3RD. QTR..... GOOD LUCK TO BOTH TEAMS!!!!!!! HOPE NO ONE GETS INJURED........[/quote'] I agree!!!! Maybe this week the defense will tackle with their hands and arms instead of their chests. Maybe this week also, the defense coach will let other players play besides his favorites the whole game. Those boys that play the whole game have empty tanks by the third quarter while others are shifting from one hip to the other.  But what do I know?? I'm just a fan sitting in the stands watching a ball game. Just wonder though if any of the coaches read this site. :?:
CRUSHCOACH Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 If the coaches are reading this they are LAUGHING at you !! Wanting a team to ARM TACKLE is the stupidest thing I've ever heard!! But, I do hope that is what ya'll do. It'll be a blow out!
baseballfan4life Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Its a good thing L-town Stunner isn't the Lumberton coach...tackling with there arms and and hands :| .....Lumberton would be doing a lot worse then what there already doing if they did that
Htexans90 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 arm tackles DEFINATELY are the way to go lol
Zoneblock Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Only way to improve on that arm tackle is to put your head down and close your eyes while you are attempting the arm tackle

I may not agree with much of what you write here, but this time I do! There are kids who put out more effort and more 'want-to' than some of those who merely show up and play the whole game. The D coach has some of them practice in several different positions, and yet they NEVER play them! What's the point? :? Rather than playing a guy who's ready to collapse, why not give someone else a chance? Who knows? Maybe they'll give you the surprise of your life! Overall, though, still don't have too much to complain about.
Htexans90 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 "i hope the coaches read this" bc if i was coach we would wear blindfolds
Htexans90 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 now dont get me wrong, im not trying to dog on the players or coaches...just a ridiculous comment
^Gusher Fan^ Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 now dont get me wrong' date=' im not trying to dog on the players or coaches...just a ridiculous comment[/quote'] Oh, I didn't say it wasn't a ridiculous comment. There've been PLENTY of those from LHS fans, as well as others! My intention isn't to dog on anyone else, either. Just stating that we're not gonna hang our heads in shame because the season didn't go the way we'd hoped. We've till had a 100% improvement over last year!
BigTuna Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Lumberton is done. They may not have lost since the 1st grade or whatever, but they have made up for lost time this year.
L-Town Stunners Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Oh, I forgot to give my prediction. Lumberton 24 LC-M 21 I was also misunderstood on my tackling comment, what I meant to say was it looks like the players are more worried about knocking the ball out of the hands than trying to tackle the ball carrier. Don't have enough fingers and toes on how many missed tackles in the backfield we have per game.
Lucky Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I dont understand the statement of wanting it more? Games can be decided by good breaks bad breaks turnovers' date=' momentum, and better atheletes and coaching but I dont think there is any kids on the field in any game that goes out there not wanting it. IMO thats not a true statement . One wanting it more than the other I dont think so. thats not just this game its any game.[/quote'] Yes, I know that everybody wants to win but some athletes really do want it more. These are the guys that stay after school to lift or run or whatever they can to get in some extra work. Or they go to the local gym to lift after practice or during the off season. They try to outwork everyone so that they become the BEST. Here is a quote from Emmitt Smith that I love....... "For me, winning isn't something that happens suddenly on the field when the whistle blows and the crowds roar. Winning is something that builds physically and mentally every day that you train and every night that you dream."
Lucky Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 i dont know but lumberton is going down next week!!! they cant even win against ozen!!! we are going to destroy them just like we did LCM. PLayoffs baby' date=' here we come.[/quote'] Nederland did not destroy LCM. They did however pull out the win with under a minute left in the game. Destroy is much too strong of a word for that game !
Lucky Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 GOOD GOSH MAN ! Apparently you have never played the game. Touch in the front yard with your sister don't count. For what its worth...........You gotta get low and bury your face into their chest and wrap your arms around them and squeeze the life out of them while your legs are pumping and pushing them into their grave. Oh, and the idea is to HIT them as hard as you can so that they have trouble getting back to the huddle if they can find it !
CRUSHCOACH Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Now that's what I'm talking about !! Lucky must have been a heck of a player !!
77 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Your correct Lucky those kids prepare better to play better therefore they are more ready but everytime the kids take the field they all want it.Its a matter of self desipline and wanting to perform at a higher level when game time comes that makes them work harder during the season and in the off season. Hence better and more in shape athletes. The off season work ethics can also come from the coaches.IMO
kittyhawk Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I think what L-Town Stunners is trying to say is the Raiders have a problem tackling in the back field. Anybody that watches them can see that.
Lucky Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Nah.............. I just like violence !

While some kids are dreaming about hunting or fishing or their girlfriend..............another group is thinking about kickin' some BUTT on Friday night. They think this way year round..........The same applies to coaches, just ask any successful coach.
t-time Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 Bears completely control this game LC-M 21 L-Town 7
New Indian Posted November 2, 2006 Report Posted November 2, 2006 Lumberton could be a spoiler for someone, they are mad about not getting in and would want to spoil it for someone!
