highcountry Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Hehehehehhhh... just testing the water. Real glad you have ladies involved on here... in fact one of the websites I run is called Women Fishing with Sabrina Stratford, a native Texan, who now resides in Colorado and chases a variety of species with a flyrod. A passion of mine is getting women and children back outdoors, so it's great you all are of the same mind. ;)

Not may Rainbow Trout around here except when the TPWD stocks them during winter/eary spring for a short term fishing opportunities. They don't live long in warm water.Might as well jump on the boat and go fishing with us.

Right now, for what thats worth, the wind is expected to be an onshore flow begining on Saturday. If the forecast holds, Saturday should be Ok. Sunday is not looking good. Again, fronts tend to slow down and/or speed up, so will have to watch it.
Will we still be going in state waters or maybe farther out? Guess it depends when we go out as well, huh?
Yes, unfortunately Federal Snapper Season is closed until next summer (usually June 1st). Texas does not agree with the feds, so Texas allows us to fish for snapper year around. The state water boundry is from inshore out 9 nautical miles, which is equivellant to driving your car 10.35 miles. Depending on everyone's schedule, we may try and go a little farther down the coast to get offshore. The farther south we go, the deeper the water gets near shore. If any of you are going to the State Championship games in Jerry's World, we can discuss ideas. Ideally it would be great to go out of Port Aransas or at least Port Oconner for bigger fish. Of course we can get by with Galveston if we have too.
