the good thing about this game is that LaMarque wasn't holding all day long

Dude, get over it...your team lost...any more excuses? Someone shares pictures with you for your enjoyment as well and you find some negative? I suggest you send them to the UIL if you think it's gonna help your cause? Oh yea, be sure you run through all of the other 633 pictures and send the ones that Dayton's doing the same exact thing fella. Really?
Hmm... well I guess the next time I see you, I'll show you what a State Title ring looks like. I wear the most recent one to every game and hopefully if "The football gods"shine upon us again, I'll be wearing my newest addition next year.
Yes, you are correct La Marque does have 5 rings.  But there are those who have worked very closely with "The winning tradition" over the years and have been given the honor to possess such rings.

either way...you didn't play for the rings...folding towels, giving water and washing jocks doesn't count
Too funny.....no I'm afraid I'm not that young anymore. My playing time was over 4 decades ago.Although I do help my wife of 36 years with the laundry from time to time, I hire others to do those sort of things with the three businesses I own.  It's been interesting reading your comments though.  8)

Well five rings i have to say we got out coached and outplayed. Im not a sore loser and just to show how much of a good sport i am we will trade you quarterbacks next year.
" bronco pride"  Really don't believe your a true Dayton fan maybe from BH,Crosby or Dayton's backup QB family member. How do you figure we got out coached ? LM was loaded with wall to wall 5a talent and we were only down 6/0 at half from a hail-mary pass. This game was closer than the score with a drop pass in the end zone a coulpe of other red-zone blubbers and this would of been a good one. Hat's off to LM they have a great team and earned the win , but it wasn't on our QB and coaches .

Love the Coogs to death, but do not go overboard with the amount of talent they have. They are just coming together as a team.

Oh jayhawk i know the broncos never get out coached or outplayed. I mean LM only had like 500 yards of offense and like 25 first downs. If you ask me the score was actually closer than the game. I think if you look we are actually putting out more D1 talent than LM this year so I dont think the talent thing was that big of a difference.

I see what you're saying with that.... but it's hard to believe more of those kids from LM aren't being recruited. I doubt it's a lack of ability, maybe it's on the coaches promoting them, and maybe it's grades. IMO, though, Dayton only had 4 or 5 kids that could've started on that LM team and that may be a little generous. That's not a knock on our kids or their great work ethic but just God-given size and ability. Your thoughts? You honestly didn't think they were a lot more talented?

I watch a ton of high school football even when my broncos are not in it and i can tell you this team was no more talented than ours. Im not bashing our kids we got beat fairly on that day. I feel like LM was more prepared to play that given day. If you look back at what LM did throughout the year they gave up bunch of points to teams that are no where near our caliber. SF who was in their discrict and didnt even make the playoffs had over 400 yards offense against this team. Friendswood hung 55 points on them and almost everybody in their district scored points on them. Their defense was supposed to be suspect everybody knew they had a good offense and the argument that they where big and fast everybody is big and fast the deeper you get in the playoffs.

    • This is good info. It doesn’t really break out for student athletes though. LP & (I think) DP are open enrollment because of the way the towns intertwine. That’s the way it’s been for many years anyway. I assume it still is that way. The kids have a choice after Jr. High to go to either High School because LPISD has elementary schools in DP. As I recall, DP didn’t want to build out more (Robin Hood issues), and so DPISD & LPISD came to an arrangement because LPISD is one of the highest givers to Robin Hood in the state, and it helped both keep more funds in district. Of course, LPISD is open to all. Not just DP, and LPISD is rated well. So, I assume they have kids from elsewhere also. Not positive though. They used to have a lot because—for decades—DeWalt was the only dedicated public school in the GHA that specifically catered to special needs kids. Families from all over enrolled. But, they didn’t participate in extracurricular activities like sports. So, LP’s total enrollment made them 6A. But, they were really a 5A school all along for sports program sake. This is all as best as I can recall from when I was more involved in school issues. I’m sure a lot has changed since then. My kids have been out for 20 years.
    • Our playoff rivalry. They hold a 6-5 edge in the series. I think Newton continues the win streak in a hard fought contest. What say y’all?
    • Has Elmo gotten his aggy premature extension yet?  Pay him already because you guys were exactly right - he really does “get you.” 😂🤣
    • It’s been awhile, but I seem to remember 5 D starters out & 2 O starters out (OL). A big difference is that Simon wasn’t involved yet. He’s totally changed LP’s rushing attack from last year as a bruising, explosive addition to Barnes, Sandolph & Bright. Last year—and early this season—LP was missing that element. Now, Coach Berneathy is not making talented players wait like many other coaches & even his predecessors at LP. If the kid can produce at the varsity level, they’re moved up. And man, has Simon produced! Over 1200 yards & 20 TD’s in less than a full season so far! It’s allowed LP to alternate RB’s where Barnes doesn’t take all the pounding. Barnes and Sandolph are also able to split out as receivers as desired to add threats that weren’t really an option last year. The PNG/LP game was a full-on tilt & good for both squads. I remember Gary Joseph in the end zone giving his son pointers as an extra set of eyes since he’d had experience with LP in past PO matchups. That was a good game. The score wasn’t really indicative of the game. Not sure anyone felt it was over until the final whistle! Good luck to y’all in Cajun Country. Bring back a win for SE Texas. (Yes. La Porte is still SETX. Ha!)
