Huntington Tournament Update Thread/Post updates here!

This one kicks off in a little under a half an hour with Jasper vs. Central Heights at 9:30 a.m.

San Augustine Beat Buffalo 57 - 36!!!

Shepherd lost to Huntington 60-37 and will play the winner of Onalaska/Buffalo game tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.

Central Heights beat Jasper by 17.  It was close until the 4th.  I think 30-33 in favor of CH.  Jasper scored 3 points in the 4th all on free throws, they never made a field goal.  Final was CH 50-33.
Woden beat Nac by 3.  I didnt see the game, understand Woden hit 2 3's to seal the win at the end.  They will play the winner of CH and Willis tomorrow.  Should be CH.
Willis beat Alto, dont know the score. SA beat Buffaloe by 20-25. Huntington beat shephard by 20.  
Crockett was beating Beaumont Kelly by 10 in the first quarter with about 3 minutes to go when I left. 14-4 when I left.
Huntington will play the winner of SA and who ever won the Onalaska and Westwood game. Not sure who SA will play.  
Central Heights is the real deal, I saw them play their first game of the season and today.  They looked good the first game but you could see the first game jitters.  Looked very confident and under control.  They will be a tough team to beat. Jasper pressed them the entire game and it did not effect them at all.  They broke it and either scored or broke the press and worked it inside to one of their bigs for a score.

That suprises me.  I havent seen Westwood play and I know they are 3A but I figured SA would beat them.  Westwood must be a little better than I thought, if they beat Onalaska and SA.  Should be a good game between them and Huntington.  I figured it would be SA and Huntington.

Crockett looked good. I didn't think they could handle Slocum, especially just coming out of football....

The Kelly Crocket game was a run and gun game.  Score was tied at 43 at the half.  Crockett was up 63-57 at the end of the 3rd.  It was 78-72 Crockett with 1:21 left, but Crockett pulled away in the last minute.  A very entertaining game.  Crockett is good.  Their guards can shoot and are quick and their bigs are athletic.  They also have good depth off the bench.  Their two posts players had 35 and 21 points each.  I'm not surprised they beat Slocum, but I am surprised at how bad they beat Slocum.

Kelly played Hempstead last night and won 62-50.  One of the better games Kelly has played this year.  Kelly was up like 44-40 going into the 4th.  The boys steped up and played really well in the 4th to pull away.  Nice to see after the tuff game earlier in the day against Crockett. 

Good luck today against Lovelady.  Can't make it today gotta work.  A report from anyone that can be there would be greatly appreciated.

Kelly beat Onalaska 64-37 and play Nacogdoches in the consolation finals at 12:30.
