Six wins in three days for the Hawks.  Valuable experience for the freshmen and sophomores.  Prudhomme with a tournament MVP; Gus and Persohn all-tournament.  Increased defensive focus and intensity.  Add some sharpshooting to all that, and the Hawks will be ready for their run.

The answer to the question " Is Port Lavaca Calhoun a playoff caliber team" the reply is "yes".  Gregory-Portland will contend with PL for the district title.  They are both a medium sized 4 a and will probably go several rounds deep in the playoffs. Also, they play a different style of basketball than we are acustomed to seeing in SETX.  No pressure on the ball and very patient on the offensive end. In fact, Calhoun has a kid that is as good as player as we will see in our district, a pure shooter who can shoot from any range and any where, with pressure in his face. It has been a joy to watch these kids grow up right before my eyes into mature young men who  leave their hearts out on the court each and every game. For all you point collectors out there and who ponder who is the best, Ill say this "all this will be over in a flash of an eye and life after sports doesn't care about ppg". By the way I am father of a current player and have taught most of these kids and they are all awesome and a joy to be around.  Dove, I usually don't get into the rhetoric on here but the Bosha kid is one of the best students/kids I have ever taught, therefore, in my opinion he is the best freshmen no matter how many threes he scores.  .

Did not make the 8 3s in the AP Tournament........made those in the Anahuac game on Tuesday night.
