Silsbee better this year or last year??

Recommended Posts

They have a TON of potential but will really have to develope to beat last years group which was pretty special. They had size, speed and shooters. This group is gonna be very good but will beat people in a completely different way. They are scary deep which is their biggest strength other than DC.

Does their coach use the platoon method and sub 5 in and out regularly?  Are they better shooting this year than last?  I know they arent as tall, but in 3AAA one big can do alot of damage.  Compared to Cleveland and Hardin Jefferson are  they smaller or bigger?  Just curious, I havent seen any of them play.

I can't argue with your analysis but I did feel our outside shooting was lacking a little last year.  We should have a little more this year.
I think the kds name that I was so impressed with shooting last years name was Hill.He was quick as a cat and could pull up and bust a beautiful long range jumper.
He doesn't platoon a complete team but plays 10 or 11 players. He plays Stallworth all he can( I don't blame him a bit for that). They shoot the ball well but are gonna score more of the defensive pressure this year than last.HJ isn't real big this year so that's about an even match.Cleveland is probably bigger overall than the Tigers or the Hawks.

If Clevelands low post player is healthy, he was probably 6'5" and was developing in to a real nice player.I didn't get to check out the YMBL this weekend but I think he is healthy and playing. They had a couple of more guards who were probably 6'2.HJ has one post player hurt who is probably their tallest player.Persohn for HJ is probably 6'2 and Prudhomme I'm guessing 6'3".Persohn plays bigger than his heighth and Prudhomme plays more on the perimeter than in the paint.

Hill did develop an outside shot last year but it was a set shot.  On the move he always went to the basket.  Lane who we return and Gaines could shoot ouside on the move but Lane didn't have a real good year shooting last yer.  This year has started a little better.

We have stallworth at 6'4 and Harris at 6'1 or 6'2.  Then we have Lane and reserve Barclay at 6'2 at  guards or forwards.  Then not much as far as  height. We will match up pretty well with HJ and not too bad with Cleveland in that aspect I believe.  The question comes when we run into a team like we or Madison was last year, how will we handle that big of a difference. At that point let us Tiger fans hope that speed kills.

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
