Speaking of "dragging things in"- wouldnt this sort of be comparable to when ETBB asked me a question about my identity and you immediately responded in an unsolicited fashion? I am reasonably aware of what the HJ program can and can't do. Personally, its way to soon to make any judgements and that is the real point I was making in my comment. Nothing new about that. Am hopeful HJ improves like 2 or three years ago when a 1-2 beginning season ended in Austin. Nothing wrong with that being your goal. CThoops
Howdy HJ fans! I'm not usually the one to stir up trouble, but I cant help it for this. ;DI told quite a few people this was a down year for HJ and that they don't have the level of talent they have had in the past. Don't mean to disrespect the program, just pointing out the fall from power this year. I dont want to hear the history lessons some of you HJ fans will try and throw out because the other people on this forum hear enough of it year after year. With this being said, I hope HJ gets back on track and makes a run to the playoffs to help represent our area of SETX.. Please do, or this forum might get real quiet in a hurry ;)

HJ has tons of role players, but one of those players has to step up each night. And in some games more than one has to have a great night. With that being said HJ has been without two starters all season and got one of those back just this week. Give them time to gel and things will be fine. No Hawks are panicking for sure!!! I totally believe that HJ will compete for the district title and make a deep run in the playoffs as they do each year and yet if they fall short of Austin someone will still claim that it is a "down year" for the Hawks!!!! ::) ::) ::)Also can you give us your description of a "down year"? I mean do the Hawks miss the playoffs totally, make it and lose first round, make it and fall short of Regionals?? What is your opinion?

jesusfreak
the point guard for HJ is very, VERY good. He must have attacked the basket 90% of the time when he brought it up the court... very impressive how he finds his way to the basket almost every time.He is definitely a tough challenge for those who must face him twice in district play. setxslam
I agree about the LCM student section-- they make for a great environment. I have nothing but rose petals to scatter before their feet.We need the Hawk Hecklers to return to 2007 strength. We were easily the loudest section in the Drum, that entire state tournament. We need a HH student leader again like senior Jace Deshotel that year. My favorite memory of Jace is him hurling hilarious insults at that sensitive little Hitler ref at Barber's Hill, at an 8:30 am Saturday game! The cop escorting Jace out was laughing out loud. Anyway, imagine students who would drive over to a Saturday early morning tournament game at BH. (BTW, I think Jace sells Acuras in Beaumont now, in case anyone needs a nice car...) The Hawk Hecklers need to return to that level of advocacy!
