Nothing last forever. Buna was once a powerhouse, Snook, just to name two.  So I guess ride the wave while you can and enjoy it.  Dont be too overconfident but be confident.  Times change, people change, basketball programs change. 
And before I get hammered by HJ fans, I am not saying that yall's program is in decline, just saying nothing last forever except One thing.

I agree, the victorious history of the HJ basketball program can't last forever.  Our golf team is the perfect example.  They went out and won district who knows how many times in a row and even had a run of 7 State Titles in a row during the mid 70's and early 80's.  Now, i have no idea how the golf team is doing or even if they still win district anymore. 
What goes up must come down.  But at least the basketball program has always been a winner.  District Champs, Co Champs, or Runners up is the norm.  I can't recall a time when HJ didn't finish in one of the three spots.  It's not a big deal to win district or bi district.  It's expected.  Other schools would love to win a district title or just make the playoffs.  I feel the same way about our Football program.  I'm not saying HJ will never drop, but i just can't imagine dropping to the bottom of the district rankings, and staying there..I would be nice to get some new blood in the mix.  It tends to keep you from overlooking the teams you take for granted.

Your program is on a serious upswing right now.  If you manage to do what HJ has done, I suspect there will be plenty of "statements" of undying support from your backers also.  Only at that time will you understand why you "can't stand all the talk about them, as if they were the greatest thing since sliced bread".  If you will be real honest and omit the hyperbole, NOBODY has said anything about being the greatest thing since sliced bread.  There are a number of staunch backers that read and post on this board and, like it or not, there is NOT a thing wrong with that.  If and when you reach that position, I will "remind" you why somebody else  will not be able to "stand all the talk about you"

[/quote]Ha!  I told my brother that we can share some bonding experiences now that we will be in the same district next year!  We can watch HJ vs. Buna basketball together and enjoy good times.......  then he suggested we do the same during football season.

I'm still here Dove.  I'm glad to see HF creating some ripples in the pool of district basketball.  But I don't want to see ripples, i want to see a huge cannonball type splash.  I like underdogs just as much as the next person.  I think it would be a huge step in HF basketball to get that 3rd place spot.  Earn that spot and win a playoff game!!
