I'd think A&M or Baylor would be the obvious choices if he wants to play in a BCS conference, however, he's got to decide what best for him....

Good to see he has some good offers to chose from...

ah dang no Lamar in those schools....lol that would be pretty cool though

Being that he is from Kirbyville (Call) and has a lot of family in Beaumont and some in Orange, you might think Lamar would have the inside track especially with their lack of run game but I personally don't think Coach Woodard and staff are pushing hard enough and showing as much interest as some of the other schools to land him.  The article is true in that he hasn't made up his mind, so more than likely the staff that shows the most interest will land him.

I for one cannot understand why he's not being looked at more...Over 2,400 rushing in a single season, for a game avg of 171 yds,There's been RB's with a lot less yards that gets more attention than he got...Can't understand why.... :-\

SFA will win out over Lamar.  If he deceides to go to a smaller school instead of an A&M it will be SFA.

I don't know as I think Ford may know a lot more about L. Ford than you or I know. SFA is a great program but Lamar has the best facilities in the SLC. Plus, SFA already has a great tradition and he could help Lamar begin one as I hear Lamar has a verbal from a stud QB already so he would not have to carry the team on his own.

You are right I don't know L. Ford and you probably do. However, I was just going by the post Ford made on this thread.

I've been to one football game in Kirbyville and that was when Butch Hadnot played there. I have family that lives in Merryville, La which is about 25 miles from Kirbyville. So, I've been there for other occasions.

Ford posted Lefredrick Ford has a lot of family in Beaumont and some in Orange. I think they would count as familiar faces. Then there is distance from Kirbyville to Nacogdoches which is about 95 miles and Kirbyville to Beaumont which is 54 miles.

He can go to Lamar and be away from home but still an hour away from a home cooked meal.  ;)

im gonna ask santa to have ford sign with LU.he'll leave the scholarship papers under the tree!!if se tx players stayed home we would be a top twenty fbs team.
The problem presented by Lamar University is that when recruiting they act as if they are a top team ... they are not ... they are building ... SFA is willing to look not only Ford, but other players from the Kirbyville team ... with possible scholarship offers to those other players ... this means a lot to a young man ... going to leave home ... may want a friendly face ... LU tells him that he could possiblly come to thier team ... LU offers the other players to possibly walk on ... (By the way the player they offered to walk on has over 200 hundred yards receiving in a losing effort on THIER Field)  ...  who would you choose ... may be academic though ... could end up anywhere ... Good kid, will be a heck of a player in college if he keeps it up .....

Wish him the best of luck in the future. But, you don't seem to know Lamar's scholarship limits. Lamar only had two seniors. Everyone else is returning. They can only sign 13-15 players total. So, they can't sign a young man just to land another one.

They need too much help in other areas of the team like OL and DL.

This may tell you more about our scholarship limits.
The problem with recruiting all that junior college players is that very few are from this area ... To truly build a long term program ... gotta get those local high school kids ... brings in the local fans ... more money at the gate .... more long term success ... Lamar is smack in the middle of a hot bed of talent ... lets see how many local kids are signed .... count the JUCO recruits ... then talk to me about limits ... by the way if Ford does go to SFA, and not LU, I think it wont have anything to do with recruiting numbers or offers to friends ... If I was a SFA alum (and I am...Go Jacks..), The number I would show him when choosing between LU and SFA is the score this year ... What was it .... oh yeah ... 70 or 73 to 3 ......LOL
