bigred360 Posted December 11, 2010 Report Posted December 11, 2010 You need to look at the roster to see the number of local kids. Congratulations to the Jacks on winning the SLC and great job in the FCS playoffs. LOL ::) We lead the SLC (if we were a member this past season) in attendance. I'd love Ford to come to Lamar but we are signing a 3 star recruit at the RB position in Derrick Hall (Beaumont Central alumnus). So, it isn't like we aren't going to have talent at the position. 8)Here are the local and I am counting all of SE Texas as local. Ford than you or I know. SFA is a great program but Lamar has the best facilities in the SLC. Plus, SFA already has a great tradition and he could help Lamar begin one as I hear Lamar has a verbal from a stud QB already so he would not have to carry the team on his own. [/quote]your right only Ford knows! but I bet i may know alot more about Ford than you do!!! ;) ;)The only thing SFA has that Lamar doesnt is familiar faces! LSU is news to me also. Hope he stays in the state and goes to Baylor or A&M....prefer A&M though! ;)
kcat-fan Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 LSU was news to me also....but it was said by family so I guess they're interested....big choices, that's for sure! :)

bigred360 Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 If he goes to A&M Gray and Michael will be ahead of him with Michael only a sophomore. I say Baylor if he wants to play in a major conference.
kcat-fan Posted December 13, 2010 Report Posted December 13, 2010 I hear he likes SFA alot....comfortable there
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Vandy? if i had to guess it's probably SFA. If its Baylor he'll be in the same back field as RG3 :o
PhatMack19 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 A&M is going hard after Texas Tech RB commit Kenny Williams, and the word is that he will switch his commit and end up in Aggieland. If Fred waits too long, A&M may not have a spot for him. Lamar showed no real effort to run the ball last year. They scored their 1st rushing TD in the last game of the season. His talents would be wasted there IMO.He will probably end up at SFA
falcolnfanatic Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 I'm pretty sure that sfa didn't run the ball a whole lot more than lamar. The announcers in nova game said they only had like 4 rushing tds all season.I hope he decides to go to baylor. They are getting better every year and Ford would defiantly help. Plus you can't beat a free education from the most expensive school un TX.

Agree, Baylor is the best choice for him at a major college IMO.

bigred360 Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 Lamar only had 13-15 scholarships to give at the start of the December signing period. That was before signing Hall, Garrett and Sanchez. They received a verbal from Forney out of Nederland and they are in the mix to land Jeremy Johnson after he transfers from West Virginia. Other need areas are the O and D line. So they only have 10 scholarships left unless they give out some partials. I don't see them signing 3 RB's in this class. One poster stated Ford wanted other Kirbyville players with him and SFA was in position to offer that. This isn't going to happen at Lamar. Trust me on that! BTW, you can add Justin Brock O lineman from West Brook to the list of verbal commitments.

kcat-fan Posted December 21, 2010 Report Posted December 21, 2010 W. Randolph and K. Williams are suppose to be committed to A&M and they were looking for 2 rb...I wonder if it's too late for F. Ford to go with the Aggies?K. Williams switched his commit from Texas Teech to A&M...from what I've read.
