Cat22 Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 The 36th annual Orangefield Basketball Tournament has been renamed after long time Orangefield Girls Basketball Coach Bill Tennison. Coach T was a big part of the Orangefield Community and will be missed. After his retirement in 1999, he rarely missed a game. There will be a dedication ceremony to honor Coach T before the girls game Thursday at 5:45. Everyone is encouraged to attend.Also I will be at the tournament all three days and updating scores for both the girls and boys.
CoachKfan Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 What a fitting tribute!!! I coached against Bill for many years. He was an icon in the coaching profession. I respected him, not only as a coach but, as a man. He not only attended the Lady Bobcat games, I would often see him at the Lamar Lady Cardinal games as well. I'm sure renaming the tournament was an easy decision. Nice touch!!
