hipster Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 How come we cannot get any info on our recruits.
bigred360 Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 http://rivals.yahoo.com/texashoops/football/recruiting/recruit-search-resultsI'm sure there are others that aren't on this list. From Coach Woodard, they are going to recruit the Juco level hard for OL and DL and then take the best athletes available. I hear next year, they will concentrate on the high school level.
coachacola Posted December 8, 2010 Report Posted December 8, 2010 I didn't see any Lamar recruits on that list, only players or high schools named Lamar. But I think Saturday is early signing day for JUCO players so we might hear some kind of announcement then. It's hard to find recruiting information on schools that are not FBS.

Lazeek Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Spoke with a very good source to LU tonight and I was told that LU has verbal commits from some key players and skill players. A QB, RB, TE and are looking hard at OL and DL!!!!!

They are waiting to see if any Big Dogs come knocking on their doors HJ fans of all people should know this process ;)
Lazeek Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 LOL...........Dove HJ has one kid that has already committed to play for LU and he is a junior this year.

Also, Trey Cassidy from Angleton has given a verbal to Colorado State. He would have been a nice pickup for Lamar.
1KatKiller Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Hipster, many colleges do not put out info on their recruits..it's common. The main reason that I have been told by more than one college coach is that they may have some sleepers and don't want to draw the attention of other schools by announcing they are being recruited.
NorthoftheBorder Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010
RB -Trinty Wilson - Wimberley Texans
Lamar is recruiting this young man? If so can you give his season stats?
wimtexan Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 No, not that I know of- just a junior that they should take a look at Friday night.

ForeverADog Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Dionte Forney from Nederland told me that he has verbally committed to Lamar.
bigred360 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Lord I hope he is not the one Lazeek is talking about. Did Forney even make All-District? I think he has some talent but I was thinking he'd go juco and work on being a dual threat QB.
badndn Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010
Lord I hope he is not the one Lazeek is talking about. You have to actually have some speed to be a dual threat QB. Kid runs 5+ second forty on a good day. Good arm.I would say if he plays at LU it will be as a DE. His work ethic will need to change, especially to play QB.Three PNG seniors this year that can play at the next level, be it FBS or FCS, but have heard very little about their recruitment to date:QB - B. Doty - 6'2" 185 lbsOL - G. Lunceford - 6'3" 270 lbsLB - D.J. Schexneider - 6'2" 200 lbsAnother is WR A. Jalali - 5'9" 170 lbs, but he will play baseball (kid can hit a ton and is fast on the bases). Maybe an LU diamond recruit!
bigred360 Posted December 9, 2010 Report Posted December 9, 2010 Come on, Forney is faster than 5.0 in the forty. He is tall so it doesn't appear he is moving very fast. I bet he runs at least a 4.7. I agree, he will probably change positions at the next level.
coachacola Posted December 10, 2010 Report Posted December 10, 2010 Looks like he'll be playing both football and basketball at Lamar.

But like I said he has a legit arm. If he plays QB he will be a pocket passer.Sonnier only ran in the 4.6 range! And he was football fast. 6'5" 250 pounders dont run 4.7's very often! I'd be willing to bet Cam Newton will only clock 4.6ish at the combine.

bigred360 Posted December 12, 2010 Report Posted December 12, 2010 No, I've read several complaints of the turf they run on at the combine. A lot of players don't like it.
