Carthage has one if not the best coaching staff in Texas. This team lost quite a bit from last year and wasn't even expected to be near this far.

After looking at the capsule, if Carthage wins, this means that both of the Div I & Div II State Champs will be from the same district. I realize this is not the first time this has happened, however it is still uncommon. What's even more remarkable is that Henderson beat Chapel Hill to win State and Chapel Hill beat the mess out of Carthage earlier in the season. Then Carthage goes and beats Henderson to be District Champs. Just goes to show you, with the right talent and coaching any team can beat on any given day.

I heard that Henderson was the third place team out of that district. Gilmer finished second. With Carthage winning it. Carthage was undefeated in district.

I also heard that Pittsburg( 4th place team) was beating Henderson 32-14 in the 4th quarter and Henderson came back and won. Had Pittsburg won that game Henderson would not of even made the playoffs.

Carthage then would have gone big school and the entire playoff mix would have been different.
