They went to 5A a few years ago. If I recall, they played in the UIL State Tournament their first year.

The two Jesuit schools, Houston's Stake Jesuit and Dallas Jesuit, sued the UIL for admission into it.  The settlement that was reached in that case was that the two schools could join the UIL but had to do so as 5A teams.

IMO Silsbee and HJ are ranked too low! Both have beatin quality competiton. IMO they are both better than Cleveland. I think there has to be a reputation count into each team being ranked.

Silsbee and cleveland are bout the same this year cleveland has beat some pretty good teams came in third at the whataburger classic without one of there best players. I dont think hj is better than cleveland this year but you never no they beat them in the playoffs past couple of years but i do think silsbee should be rite there with cleveland or in front of them in the rankings.

Why isn't West Sabine ranked in 1A Division I? Their only losses have came to 2,3, and 5A schools (Lufkin's JV and Kennedale in 3A, just to name two off the top of my head)and haven't lost to a 1A school yet! If they stay healthy they will make some noise in the playoffs! Their front line and depth I feel is right there with any 1A school in the state.

Up until their big win over Leggett, Burkeville really didnt have any big wins over any other notable teams that would get them recognition.  They lost to Silsbee by 50, they lost to 1A-II Wells by 30, they lost to unranked 1A Broaddus by 30 and lost to unranked 1A-II Kennard.  I just dont think that resume is good enough to warrant a ranking.
