LamarStatesports Posted December 14, 2010 Report Posted December 14, 2010 The Lamar State College-Port Arthur men’s basketball team extended their current win streak to four games with an 87-65 non-conference victory over the Texas Southern University Basketball Club on Monday night in the Carl Parker Center.The Seahawks, now 12-2 on the season, came out a little flat in this game after posting 111-67 and 109-62 wins over Southern Sports Academy at home this past Friday night and Saturday afternoon.Lamar State led early in the contest, but allowed TSU to tie the game and take a one-point lead, 23-22, with 7:22 left in the first half. The Seahawks then went on a 28-3 run capped by a technical foul on a TSU player that led to freshman forward Dame Ka sinking two free throws for the T and two free throws for the foul to make the score 40-26.Lamar State led by 16 points, 49-33 at halftime, then dominated the second half to come away with the win.LSC-PA sophomore wing Keenen Coleman led all scorers with 23 points. Sophomore guard Vonn Jones hit for 16 points, while freshman guard David Laury had 11 and Ka added 10 points.Lamar State will be back in action tomorrow night at 7 p.m. in the Parker Center for the Seahawks’ final game of 2010, a non-conference match up with University Park Academy from Houston.
