rykerx144 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I guess your right its old and dont work anymore. I guess that has been Kirbyvilles problem the past five or six years. At least three deep every year and two state championship appearances proves that there must be somthing wrong with the package he is running. ::) ::)
football Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Yeah, Coldspring wasn't very successful this year either!!!!! ;D ;D
Kville_Kats Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Kirbyville don't just run the Wing T...It's the primary offense,But they use varations of the Wing T also.. ;)
badndn Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Wing T can work at the 3A and lower levels. I think the lower you go in classification the better it works. Watch 4A and 5A and you will see very few teams that win deep in the playoffs with any of the Wing or Bone offenses. The reason is that the number of Athletes is greater the higher up in class you go. Therefore it is harder to weardown teams that can rotate in DLine and even LB that only play one way and are very good athletes.
comeonman Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Enough about the wing t - final interviews today i think - this one will be interesting. who gets it?looking for a sleeper here.

WOSgrad Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Newsflash for you guys, IF Jack Alvarez leaves Kirbyville, it won't be to go to Jasper.
playdefense Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I would have to say I agree with you WOS. Just do not see that happening.

The last time ANY AAA or above team ACTUALLY WON a Texas State Championship running the Wing T I could fill up my truck for under 35 dollars, I could go to a showroom and buy my daughter a new Saturn, no one had ever heard of our president, and Blockbuster and The Movie Gallery were booming businesses in our little town.

Somebody please answer if they can?
ChampionEagles Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 1998 AAA State Title for Curtis Barbay's Newton running the wing T. 2005 AA State Title for Curtis Barbay's Newton running the wing T. The 2005 Title was the last of any team in this area from any classification.
jeffcoat Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 I believe that at the AAA and above level it has become next to impossible to WIN a Texas State Championship if offensively you are one dimensional. I honestly dont believe that one dimensional can WIN it anymore in Texas. If one does it will be because of TOTALLY superior athletes or a defense that does not allow any points.
T-daddy Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 Barbay and alverez interviewed on the same day wonder how they compared head to head????? also the powers to be are excited on the quality of applicants....dont be suprised if its someone that hasnt been mentioned on this board...and yes jack would love to coach the athletes jasper has coming up...

playdefense Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 A phone interview - really. There is no way Jasper conducted a phone interview for a potential ad/head fb. That just is not happening. They probably interviewed Harbuagh via phone also. He drove to Jasper like the others and interviewed just like the others.

If so, did your son hang out in the field house all day? or did he go to class
