bigred360 Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Please hire him Angelo State. Best of luck on a head coaching gig Coach Whitten.
bigred360 Posted December 17, 2010 Report Posted December 17, 2010 Now, that would be a dream come true...
westendfirst Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Why does everyone love dodge? Ok, it would be awesome if he went to kelly but not mu.
ForeverADog Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 They love Dodge because he has proven he can score a lot of points with his offenses. He just could never figure out defensive stuff as a head coach.
nbulldogs2004 Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Out with the Whitten and in the with Dodge!!!
geezer Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 WAG , But a reasonable possibility for Dodge is to Texas as qb coach, expect UT to promote Applewhite to OC to keep him from going to Florida with Muschamp.
coachacola Posted December 18, 2010 Author Report Posted December 18, 2010 Dodge made $275K as HC at UNT. Woodard only makes around $140K so Dodge would have to take a serious pay cut to be OC at Lamar. I doubt we'll see Dodge at Lamar and I bet Whitten is Lamar's OC next year.
Ruckdad Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Dodge MADE (past tense) that much at UNT. However, he is currently unemployed and those unemployment benefits only go so far. He'll probably get some better offers but you don't know unless you ask. And the worst he can tell you is no.

HardHitter Posted December 22, 2010 Report Posted December 22, 2010 We could just get some one out of the stands each Sat. and do just as well... ;)

Now that Jeremy Johnson is at Lamar, I wonder how interested Dodge would be in coaching him as the OC. Lamar could probably offer him a competitive salary as OC compared to a QB coach at a big school, unless it's a BCS school like UT or OU.

There are several people with deep pockets who are either alumni or have developed a relationship with the university. They could set him and his family up in a home, buy him a car and several other things outside what Lamar can do with a salary for a OC.Todd Dodge is still a legend here from his playing days at TJ to his coaching career. I know the kids he recruits don't remember him as a player but I bet their parents do.I'm sure there is someone who isn't a fan of Todd Dodge that will now post something negative.I wonder about people from SE Texas sometimes. ::)
