Yes they did. Good job newton. But for te people that have it set I. Their mind that newton outplayed Woodville that whole, you have no idea what you're talking about. Woodville took it too them the whole game until the last 5 minutes when they made a few costly mistakes.

I guess this "outplayed" included Newton coming back from trailing by a couple of touchdowns and taking the lead. Talk about not knowing what your talking about. :D

eagleswoodville no.1 is right. The last five minutes of the game SHOULD NOT COUNT. I have contacted the UIL and they promised to look into a new rule change next year. The new rule would read, '' THE LAST FIVE MINUTES OF A FOOTBALL GAME DOES NOT COUNT WHEN PLAYING WOODVILLE".

Youre taking my words and trying to use them against me. I said OTHER THAN THE LAST FIVE MINUTES, Woodville outplayed them. Didnt say anything about the whole game cuz, obvioulsy, the team that wins has outplayed the team that lost overall in a game. But woodville dominated newton the first half and most of the second half. Thats all i was stating. But, no, that purple eagle bandwagon they got over there at newton has to step in and try to take what i said and make it into a whole new statement.

eagleswoodville no.1, you stated "other than the last five minutes woodville outplayed them"-----In the next line of your statement you stated "obviously, the team that wins has outplayed the team that lost overall in a game". I think Newton won that game.
Sorry, I did not mean to ruffle your tailfeathers. See you and your eagles next year at Newton.

Don't take this as Woodville bashing, just a non expert outside observation. Ever since the late sixties and early seventies when I played, Woodville has had good, and some great, athletes. They just had trouble winning in a consistent manner. This past year seems to be the same. I know it is hard to instill that winning tradition and carry it forward with different kids and parents as the years change, but I think it is at the heart of most "winning" programs. It is going to be interesting to see how both Woodville and Newton develop over the next couple of years. I think Newton over the last couple of years has lost some that tradition with the kids as well as losing the leader, Coach Barbay. It will be interesting to see if WT can bring it back. ECBucFan brought up a very valid point in that this years team seemed to at times quit. They did not "play till the whistle blows" on many occasions. I look forward to see if WT corrects this. And again, my hats off to EC and the class the team showed as well as the touching halftime performance by their band this year in Newton. Job well done.
