What's the 1 rule you would like the UIL to change for next season?

I disagree (unless I understood you wrong).  I think that there should be NO ADVANTAGE TO COMMITTING A FOUL.  Currently, if you're on D,  and the receiver is about to make a catch (and often times score),  it's to YOUR ADVANTAGE to commit pass interference to break up the pass.  This gives the O the ball with a penalty,  instead of a big gain and/or score.  This is wrong.  They should put it back like it used to be.

The penalties are in force, in part, to discourage fouls,  not reward them.

Thats what im talkin about ;D Right now if the foul is 20 yrds down the field the O only gets 5 yrds and a 1st down. This encourages the D to commit the penalty instead of making the play.

I would like to see half time go back to 20 minutes. Current 28 minutes way to long.

Then add to it the teams that think its mind games to come out after the clock has expired while the other team is on the field ready to play (BH / CROS). It does drag but 2 good bands does help.

If I only get one rule change, it would be to go back to only 2 playoff teams from each district. No, it would be 6 classifications (plus 6Man) with no divisions per classification. No, it would be tougher taunting/celebration rules, including giving the option of Live Ball or Dead Ball foul.

DPI is a spot foul up to 15 yds. So if it happens 3 yds down field it's a 3 yd penalty with 1st down. If it happens 20 yds down field its a 15 yarder. But I agree if it happens 25 yds down field it should be a 25 yarder.

Agree, 110% with this post and additionally the pass inference penalty for me should be at the spot of the foul.

I see it as being defenseless.  In the pros, they will do a tag your it type deal.  Kids are going to hit any chance they get.  I would hate to see a kid get hit and have a career ending injury because of someone being overzealous.

I don't want to call out the schools because some teams did awesome this season, but it seems unfair that players from outside school attendence zones can enroll at some schools because of open enrollment rules, it is hypocritcal given all the rules UIL has in place to keep schools without open enrollment from recruiting players. Some schools with open enrollment policies do have the best players around and are benefitting.

P.S.  for everyone that wishes for the return to 2 playoff teams per district, you can bet the UIL will never go back to that format.

Seen alot of those 3-7 teams surprise a 10-0 team. I like the 4 teams because in some districts the 3 / 4 team is better than the 1/2 team of another district. ;D

Thats what i'm saying...  Two years ago Brenham faced a 2-8 Manor team.  The result was a 42-0 halftime score before we pulled the starters. I think the final score was 49-14.  I say 2 teams should make the playoffs from each district.

Neither would Houston Memorial, tied for 3rd with Katy Taylor, but went as 4th place team due to loss to Taylor.  Made it to the Semi-finals where they lost to Cibolo Steele.  I say let 'em play, there are upsets every year by the 3rd and 4th place teams.
