Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Colbert is gone. he is the new coach at the new Humble school.
pngfan93 Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 From what i'm hearing from some people is that they are looking into talking to TJ-ex Todd Dodge. If they can spit up the money he'll come back to SE Texas where he belongs. Dodge will never coach in PA. He had his name on the list when the school was still TJ -- before he took the SLC job. He took one tour of the school and had his name removed from the list. Things have only gotten worse since then. Until massive changes are made in PA administration and facilities, they will not get a top tier coach. Heck, for all that goes, no team in this area is going to get a top tier coach with the current facilities. The best any of us will do is to get someone that is on the move up. Even then, we will only keep them a few years.
MIF04 Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 22-5A PA Mem WB Lee Sterling Kingwood Humble (altho' the next realignment when Kingwood and Humble each split will be really interesting) From there, UIL has several options: Lufkin was considered last time but rejected because of travel. Spring and Westfield wll probably go elsewhere (they appealed the last realignment because they didn't want the travel to PA and Bmt). You might see some combination including Deer Park, North Shore and/or La Porte. The talk is that some districts are going to because larger because of the extra playoff team. You could have some districts combined (22, 23 and 24 reduced to only 2 districts). Or they could leave 22-5A as it is, and add 2 teams (North Shore?). Talk about a football district!!!!
KFDM COOP Posted January 19, 2006 Report Posted January 19, 2006 Your right, Feb. 2nd will be interesting...
Ex-Card-86 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 The 1A class has to increase due to adding a third team to the playoffs next year. Our region already has several byes in the playoffs in football due to the lack of numbers. If 1A moves up, 2A must move to fill the 36 districts. The way I see it is all numbers go up until you hit the 1000 student mark. Any thing above that will remain 4A.
KFDM COOP Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 I think the 3A top number goes to 940-950...
Ex-Card-86 Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Where do you see the bottom number?
Ex-Card-86 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 If that is correct, Anahuac and Buna could be 2A! That would help both of those schools in all sports.
SilsbeeD Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 i wouldnt mind the 3a number staying at 900 max but i dont want them to go over 950
Ex-Card-86 Posted January 25, 2006 Report Posted January 25, 2006 You are correct. It is really not fair when a school has double the enrollment! A school with 400 shouldn't be able to compete with a school with over 900. There are very few exceptions(Newton is one).
