Joharr73 Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 Over the holiday break, West Hardin lost one of it's student-athletes to an unfortunate accident. I don't know the details, but James Sangwin will be missed by the Oiler family. In a showing of respect to this young man, his jersey #33 was hung over a chair on the sideline during the game by some of the Varsity players. Coach Henry made a classy move by having James start with his fellow JV squad and be the jump ball man to start the game off. He played with 4 players for the 1st 1:30 of the game. There's been a lot of unfortunate deaths this year, but it's nice to see that kind of respect from a coach & school.So... thank you Coach Henry and the Varsity players for your respect and sportsmanship!!!
86hawk Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 agreed. first class move. i'm sure his family and classmates appreciated the gesture.
