For a kid 12 years old, he can handle the rock. I didn't really see or hear anyone trying to make him out to more than what he is. Most 12 year olds take two dribbles and it goes off of their foot, so give the kid his due. He has got some skills.

[/quote]off season? Did you guys know that Oak Hill Academy (Oak Hill, Va) lifts on game day? And their one of the top programs in the country.But my older son is sore from lifting and playing everyday.

The young man is a very talented player.  The thing that would hold him back would be his size, he looks more like a 3rd-4th grader.  The AAU circuit may be too physical for him. 

On a side note, Oak Hill is a top academy in the nation, I still do not agree with lifting on game days.  I see where there would be no benifit. 2 days a week during the season but not on game day.  Oak Hill has the luxury to have college bodies in HS kids and at that level lifting changes a little in my opinion.

[/quote]I agree on both points.But Oak Hill also has a  "regular" high school team that you never hear about and they lift on game days.

I may be behind on lifting on game days, I would never do it on game days with a program.  The only way I can see it being benificial is if the kids are used to lifting on game days.  If they do a light 20 minute workout with hardly any weight and then shoot for an hour or so I could see it being not so bad.  It may be ahead of the curve, I dont know.  I just dont want to mess with anything my players are going to need on game days.  Especially with their shots.  JMO
