BADSANTA Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 The only way for HJ to beat Silsbee is to not play Silsbee's game. The Tigers love to play a fast pace offense. If HJ plays their slow down game, they have the talent to do so. What do you think HJ's keys to a victory are?
no-look Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 HJ must control tempo and have very few turnovers....cover the three and help down low....win the rebound count.......but get back to avoid a fast break.....

Sounds pretty easy ;D
hjhawks Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 I would say the keys to winning are the same for both teams.... limit turnovers.... convert free throws...make open shots...keep key players out of foul trouble

AggiesAreWe Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 The key to win for both teams is to outscore the other team. ;D

bullets13 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 HJ needs to slow the game down, work the ball around and use their size. they need to stay out of foul trouble. their starting five is VERY good, but they need to stay on the court. the bench isn't bad at all this year, but there's a noticeable dropoff. they need to make their freethrows, and they need to force turnovers while limiting their own. they also need to shoot a decent percentage from behind the arc. they can do it. they're not the favorite, but they're capable. i'm looking forward to the game.
CThoops Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Get DC into foul trouble. Silsbee is going to rely heavy on him to produce in scoring, defensive rebounding, and blocking shots. And they need to contain Lane from getting his offensive game going . DC maybe be the best player in the area and on the team, but Lane and the other guards make them a tough team to beat.

stigers12 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 the key to hj winning is to have all the silsbee players come down with a life threatening illness the night before the game :)

BLUEDOVE3 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Wasted topic unless you enjoy dreaming about the past and what it use to be. I had a talk with a coach last night whose team lost to Lubbock Esta"something." The coach's team was undefeated until they met Lubbock during the holidays. He said they are the real deal. So HJ not this year.

BADSANTA Posted January 11, 2011 Author Report Posted January 11, 2011 Todd Sutherland is the best coach in SETX! That's why they will win.

There is the possibility that HF will have THREE of the quickest guards in the region, very soon. Oops! :-X :-X

Will those quickies be lifting on game days? If you have 3 super quick players, do they have any problem dealing with each others quickness?
