HJ must control tempo and have very few turnovers....cover the three and help down low....win the rebound count.......but get back to avoid a fast break.....

The key to win for both teams is to outscore the other team. ;D

HJ needs to slow the game down, work the ball around and use their size.  they need to stay out of foul trouble.  their starting five is VERY good, but they need to stay on the court.  the bench isn't bad at all this year, but there's a noticeable dropoff.  they need to make their freethrows, and they need to force turnovers while limiting their own.  they also need to shoot a decent percentage from behind the arc.  they can do it.  they're not the favorite, but they're capable.  i'm looking forward to the game.

Get DC into foul trouble. Silsbee is going to rely heavy on him to produce in scoring, defensive rebounding, and blocking shots. And they need to contain Lane from getting his offensive game going . DC maybe be the best player in the area and on the team, but Lane and the other guards make them a tough team to beat.

No insults here- just pure, unadulterated envy.

Wasted topic unless you enjoy dreaming about the past and what it use to be. I had a talk with a coach last night whose team lost to Lubbock Esta"something." The coach's team was undefeated until they met Lubbock during the holidays. He said they are the real deal. So HJ not this year.

Estacado beat one of those "famous private schools" from Houston that you admire so much, Dove.  They are odds on favorites to take it all again this year.

I guess the question then becomes, who will be in Austin first:  HJ or the Longhorns

[/quote]Your window of opportunity is closing in fast. There is the possibility that HF will have THREE of the quickest guards in the region, very soon. Oops! :-X :-X

3 questions for you Dove-  How does quickness help when rebounding?  Will those quickies be lifting on game days?  If you have 3 super quick players, do they have any problem dealing with each others quickness?
