ForeverADog Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Exactly Geezer. I don't think anyone is upset with the last 1 minute of play. Lamar blew the game multiple times before that. We should have been up 15 at that point. We let McNeese steal one.
Guest tappedout Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 We missed a dunk and a few easy inside bucket's late that could have put the game away. The TO and foul by James was rediculous!
geezer Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 All good points as far as missed oppurtunities even with the guys who played, but getting slapped with a Technical foul for dunking in warm ups is the coaches fault and shows a lack of players following instructions or a lack of knowledge of the rules by the coaches.
bigred360 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 They can dunk during warm-ups as long as the refs aren't on the floor. Once those guys show up it's a no-no.

Rember Lamar warms up on the end of the court the refs walk out to, so there is no warning.
bigred360 Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Well, I remember going to a University of Houston and Lamar game in the early 90. UH team had a nickname of Phi Slama Jama for all the dunks they did during pregame warm ups. It was awesome watching those guys display all kinds of dunks. However, in the end, Lamar won that game and felt great because we not only beat UH but our former Head Coach in Pat Foster.
ForeverADog Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 The rule is in place so that teams don't hang out on the rim and try to soften it up right before they start shooting on it to get better rolls. Don't think they could do much to help ever but that's what its for.
