bigred360 Posted January 14, 2011 Report Posted January 14, 2011 Zack was a 2nd Team 2010 All-SETXsports.com selection at WR. He made the 1st Team Port Arthur News Super Team at WR and was a 1st Team Beaumont Enterprise Super Gold Team selection at WR.Appears Lamar is looking at him. Does anyone know it a offer has been made? He is listed at 6-0, 180 with a 4.5 forty time. He could join Joseph Viator a former LC-M Bear on the Lamar football team.He had 68 catches for 1006 yds and 7 TDs this season.http://rivals.yahoo.com/texashoops/football/recruiting/player-Zack-Sonnier-121497http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsRx1AHrqF8
bobbymcgee Posted January 15, 2011 Report Posted January 15, 2011 Great hands, great route runner. Not a high end speed guy. But who is in I-AA?

bigred360 Posted January 15, 2011 Author Report Posted January 15, 2011 What about a offer to walk-on? If he does well then put him on scholarship as we'll have about 25 available next season. He looks good on the video and we are loosing several WR's after this season.

(though Moss was at Marshall as both div1-aa and div1-a transition time) ... anyway has there been a pro timing day at LU yet or will that be later in the Spring?
bigred360 Posted January 16, 2011 Author Report Posted January 16, 2011 Smith, Lamar is having spring ball starting in Feb. I don't know when their pro day is but I would assume it would be later in the spring.I think J.J. Hays has the potential to play at the next level but I'm not sure who else has that kind of talent this year. http://blog.beaumontenterprise.com/inthecards/2011/01/13/ray-woodards-thoughts-on-upcoming-spring-practices/
Dawg_Pride Posted January 16, 2011 Report Posted January 16, 2011 I heard several NFL teams have asked about J.J.

I'm a supporter of J.J. I hope he can find a football home and let his talent shine. I also hope that home is Lamar University (I'm an alum) but J.J. has to know NOW that it's not high school anymore. Every action that he takes now must be accounted for. I wish you good fortune in college football, J.J. And, hopefully, in the NFL too.

Several guys I played with at WB that were WR went on to play at larger colleges and they ended up playing arena football and one played in Canada.

ForeverADog Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 JJ has the best hands of the two but Marcus is faster. I don't either gets drafted but they both could easily get invited to different rookie camps and from that point who knows what could happen. Either one could be the next Marques Colston.
