[/quote]I woke up first thing this morning...thinking about that darn game! We truly had all the tools last night needed to beat OF by 15-20 pts. HF has about the tallest team in prob all of our 3a district and one of the quickest PG's.......Congrats HF JV on their first district win. #35-Appling did his thing last night as well as the entire team!

I though the same thing ,after seeing HF play. They have good size ,but just dont use it. When your tallest kid playes behind the 3 piont line and never attackes the rim, it kind of makes you wonder who is running the team. I know the kid wonts to play out side ,but in highschool you have to play were you help the team the most. But look at the brightside your son is young so he has 3 more years to try and get it fixed.

This is going to sound like I am knocking OF, but I'm not. HF was much more athletic than OF, but we continually walked the ball up  the court. HF let OF control the tempo, which was to OF's advantage. HF should have run them out of the gym, but all we did was walk the ball up when we had it and slap at the ball when they had it. I sat behind the OF bench and your coach did a good job. His strategy won the game for OF. Coaching definitely won this game.

Wow.  You people have been on this guy all year.  I don't know the guy, but it seems like fould trouble might have dictated a lot of what he had to do on Friday.  I am not sure about pushing the ball up the floor.  You had 3 guys over 6'5"  on the floor at one time.  Don't know if you could have beat them down the floor.  You have to pick your poison.  Are you going to outsize your opponent or run the floor.  Not sure you are that athletic to do both.  That is probably why your JV beats the Varsity sometimes in practice as was pointed out earlier in the year. 

As for the OF coach.  I am up in the air about him.  I watched him the last two years with a lot of talent and he did nothing with it.  This year he has much less talent and they are doing just as well.  Still not sure.  Looks like he had a good gameplan for Friday.  They are very fundamental and play really hard.  That is what I have noticed the liimited times I have watched them this year.  They play hard.  Should be an interesting rest of the year.

Oh another thing.  Dove I am assuming #10 was your son.  He is really good.  Especially for a 9th grader.  I will be honest with you.  You better look to move somewhere esle.  I don't know if he is going to have the tools around him to meet the expectations that it seems you have.  You and your wife obviously have problems with the coach and I don't think he is going to change.  JMO

I dont think an up tempo game is your strength.  You dont have the guards for it.  I agree with bball, your best opportunity is the size factor.  The fresh has to learn to get his bigs involved as opposed to looking like aau.  He is good player for a fresh but the game changers are down low and he needs them if he is going to effective at all this year.  Also, the exchange kid needs to learn to use the size and take advantage of the mismatch he creates as opposed to standing outside.

This is exactly what I have observed in the few HF games that I have seen this year. They have the size but the overall guard play is not good. Teams that pressure these guys will have great success.

[/quote] I fell the same, they have good size but just dont use it. When you biggest kid it standing behind the arch you  mayaswell have a 5 foot guard out there. Make you wonder who is running that team. Is the kid playing for himself or the team ???
