MIF04 Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 Saw this game. A superb pitching duel through 5 innings turned into a run fest as West Brook outlasted Ozen 7-4. Mark Serna (WB) and Josh Gardiner (Ozen) threw zeros at each for 4 innings before Gardiner exited. In the 6th, WB got on the board on a Ferguson single, walk to Wallace and 2-out, 2 RBI single from Chaisson. After Ozen scored without hit in the 6th (courtesy of 4 walks and a WP), WB scored 5 in the 7th with RBIs from Ferguson (Sac Fly), Wallace (2 run single) and Chaisson (another 2 run single). When Ozen rallied in the 7th, Murphy entered at P to earn the save. Tough win for WB. Ozen played very well until a couple of fielding blunders opened the door in the 7th. J osh Gardiner pitched very, very well for them (and contributed an RBI single).
