To be honest, it is people like Nash that really make others not want to like HJ..  ;)

I thought that WOS would come out fired and up and be running and gunning on HJ.. Obviously I was wrong, and it looks like HJ played with alot of emotion after the loss to Silsbee and maybe had something to prove about their team.. Sometimes you pick right.. and sometimes you dont..

They are just "rolling along", hitting the the occasional Silsbee speed bump along the way, or any other legit team they play (like earlier before district)  :D

Listen the district that Nederland is in is not that much better.  Nederland is the cream of the crop this year and Ozen (down year), Central, LCM and then 4 teams that are pathetic at best in Livingston, Vidor, PNG and Lumberton.  So don't talk about competition!!!!!

Not likely to happen with Nederland. 5A and 4A take four teams to the playoffs, no bye in the playoffs. They all, including district champ, play in the first round. Usually only teams with a bye will schedule a warm up game.

I didnt say WOS was one of those teams..  ??? I said they are good 11-12 team and dont take them lightly.. I know Nederland is on top right now, but go look where they played before District.. Has HJ played in an actual tournament to challenge them? Why doesnt HJ go to the YMBL? How about take on some 4A and 5A teams? I agree that we dont play in a top-to-bottom stacked district, but Ned challenged itself before district to better themselves..

HJ record is sky high now because they hit the soft part of their schedule. What was going on earlier this season? Want to still say it wasw injuries? Or key people not back yet for some reason? They lost because those teams were better and out-played them, but since they are rolling in district, no HJ person wants to remember that. Same can be said about Nederland. They lost quite their games because the other team outplayed them and a few times because Nederland blew the lead.

I wont comment anymore about HJ if they beat Silsbee. I promise on that one.  ;)

[/quote]  I have to respond guardedly so  it will not be considered classless to question an HJ detractor.(if you are a detractor, anything goes, but if you question the detractor, its unfair)  Other than during the first couple games of the season, when was it that HJs record wasn't a good one?  Silly me- I was thinking that the performances against WOS and Silsbee (both in opponents gym) was an indicator that HJ had become a pretty good team this year in spite of their "weak" schedule.  Makes me long for the good ole days.

The point I was making was more towards the fact that HJ lost all its games to legit teams this year (Im trying not to disrespect some teams too much)
Nederland, Central, and Silsbee... Maybe LCM on a good day  ;)

Like I said, I will stop the hate on HJ if they beat Silsbee and/or make it back to play Silsbee for a 3rd time.. Until then, I wont be proven otherwise because there is no evidence on the schedule

Lazeek- The "weak schedule" issue is discussed routinely every year but I think HJ has decided if they can get to the final four in the regionals for many consecutive years, throw in a couple of trips to Austin plus a championship, they should probably do it "their way" instead of trying to satisfy the "schedule requirements" of someone else.  I am not 100% sure of this. but I am guessing that is as good as anybody else from this area has done even though discussing history is unacceptable to some.

Great team, great Coach, often times lousy fans with very misplaced emotions. Sure they show up and cheer/ridicule the opposing team, but as far as they are concerned no one else in the state of Texas plays basketball.
