HSBALL03 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 So according to the alignments Cleveland should play HJ in the quarters again for the third straight year. Could the third time be the charm for these seniors from Cleveland?
Guest speechless Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 how can you know who cleveland will play when district has not been decided yet for anyone
HSBALL03 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Report Posted January 25, 2011 well I am assuming Silsbee will win 21 and Cleveland will get the runner up from 21 in the quarters.
AggiesAreWe Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 If these two meet again in the quarterfinals, I'll take HJ again by 6, 66-60.That's as sincere and logical as I can make it. ;) ;D

HSBALL03 Posted January 25, 2011 Author Report Posted January 25, 2011 Lol. The 21 pick isn't received well.
86hawk Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 being the "homer" that i am, i will take HJ. Cleveland is by for more athletic, but lack discipline. they shot themselves in the foot last year (and in the past) and will do it again. Once HJ beats the first step child, Cleveland, they will move on and beat their second step child, Navasota, and move on to Regionals. They will play Silsbee in the finals, assuming Silsbee makes it to the finals.

The realignment puts Navasota (assuming they win their district) in the bottom half of the regional bracket with the district winner of 21-3A. Navasota would face the 21-3A champion in the quarterfinal round just as Cleveland would face the runner up of 21-3A in the quarterfinal round. Assuming all these teams win the 1st and 2nd round playoff games.
86hawk Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Oh well. Thanks AAW, i was not aware Navasota was realigned. Good for them, they were tired of seeing HJ. The 2nd biggest problem Cleveland has is they have to play Silsbee or HJ. It never seems to end to well for Cleveland when that happens. Once HF becomes the powerhouse they are projected to play, Cleveland may have a chance to advance to the Area round.

BLUEDOVE3 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Sorry guys, as it stands right now HJ WILL NOT beat Cleveland this year. And all of my predictions are close. Sorry! :'(

86hawk Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 No offense BD, but that is what everyone has said the last two years. Yet HJ finds a way to win and Cleveland finds a way to choke, self destruct, beat themselves...whatever the case may be, they just can't find a way to not beat themselves. It is never "HJ wins" it is always "Cleveland chokes" so i will stick with that theme. You're not going to bite on the HF portion of the post?

Lazeek Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 If you keep saying that HJ will lose to Cleveland it may eventually happen, and you will be able to say I told you so..............keep guessing!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
86hawk Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 No doubt HF won't make the playoffs this year. i was reffering to the 2012/13/14 run to the state title. You are right LAZ, sooner or later the prediction will come true. You will never beat me in a foot race and i will never beat you in golf, but that is because we are in different leagues. But if HJ plays Cleveland 100 times, i would guess Cleveland would win once.

Besides I don't know that my heart & nerves can handle another matchup!!! I was a nervous wreck two years ago when they played in Kountze!
HSBALL03 Posted January 26, 2011 Author Report Posted January 26, 2011 I think that game in Kountze has slipped many minds. Cleveland flat-out layed an egg last year against HJ. These seniors lost in OT by 3 to the Jarvis Benard led Hawks two years ago..and they were all sophomores.

What do you think will happen "if" the Longhorns somehow get to the playoffs and ultimately encounter Cleveland?

[/quote]Yeah I remember HJ built a double digit lead in the second half and had the Cleveland faithful leaving but Cleveland fought back & forced OT. Man if we would have just made our free throws in regulation it wouldn't have come to that. I sure hope free throws don't keep HJ from advancing this year.

I think the only way to insure that this happens is to have the HJ player lift twice daily on game days.
