Bmt. Ozen vs Bmt. Central Game Thread/Central wins/Comments

Recommended Posts

WOW!!!!  Sounds like it was a good game.
Ozen was up by 3 with 1:25 to play, and then down by 3 less than a minute later.
Did Ozen try to spread the court and missed their free throws?

Looks like Finger Roll called it, he just picked the wrong team.
He said it was a toss up, but he said Ozen by 2
I said that I would go with the home team, and the game was played at Central.
It's possible that they could meet again, but one of them might have to play Barbers Hill first.

This is true, it was a great game. My lady Jags showed heart and determination with the will of not to quit when down by 9 with 315 left in the game. We regrouped and turned up the defense. It was truly a team effort in this win. I would like to send a special congrats to Janise #3 (my lil sis) for going 6 for 6 from the line in the crucial minutes of the game. We have the athletes to apply great pressure when needed and that's what caused the turnovers for us late in the game. We still will have to play Livingston this Friday, which should make the playoff picture a little more clearer. Congrats to both teams on a hard fought games, and to the ones with minor injuries get well soon. Way to go Lady Jags..

P.S. From the looks of the state bracket, whoever goes in as the district runner up, will probably meet up with BH in the 3rd round...

We'll be ready my friend.  Hopefully Ozen first (we want a rematch BAD) then Central in the Region finals!

    • It's called an Outlaw schedule. West Hardin did it for travel purposes and not competition. They were put in a district up north that was just too strenuous on the school budget.
    • My sons and I have been doing a football podcast for the past couple of seasons where discuss and recap football from all levels, with a heavy lean toward TXHSFB. It's a great way for us to spend time together centered around something all of us love and get excited about, while also helping them learn a useful skill for life as they grow into young men. This week, we have scored a couple of really big interviews, and I wanted to share the link with you all just in case anyone was interested in giving it a listen. The interviews and scheduled releases are listed below.  Huffman Falcons HFC and AD Joey Buchta - 11/13 Huffman Falcons Jr. QB Nolan Cook - 11/14 Episodes will be live on Spotify and Apple Podcasts sometime during the evenings on the two dates. If you are a coach or player and would be interested in appearing on the podcast, please send me a PM here on the site and we can set it up. Please like and subscribe to the show to get alerts when the conversations are available for you to listen. Happy Football!! Look us up in the Spotify or Apple Podcasts apps if you are interested in listening, I am not able to make links post on the site!!
    • Orangefield steamrolled their entire district besides Coldspring. I feel like they are getting better at running the spread each passing week, and I don't see Fairfield stopping them. Orangefield by 3 TDs
    • A few years back one of the Hardin schools, maybe West Hardin, opted out of their UIL District and any chance of making the playoffs but still played football. They made their own schedule. I forget what it is called when a team does this but that should be the move for Cleveland. At 6 A they will never make the playoffs, so why not lower your competition and give yourself a chance to not get 70 scored on you everytime you play.
    • Yes they do but nobody wants weather to be a factor in the championship game. Besides, usually Sept-Oct. is much nicer temp than mid Dec.
