Mcvey gave Lamar a verbal last weekend...
Here's what Scout says about him:
Not very fast but he is efficient in his running of the routes and in getting open. He has great hands and won't drop the ball then he takes off and runs tough. His speed will limit what schools he will get offered by and make being D1 tough, his hands and route running skills are above average.
Shades of the old Baltimore Colt, Raymond Berry.  He was a slow receiver that had a pretty decent career because he ran precise routes and caught EVERYTHING!

Big difference between this scout.com report and the one up above that says his 40 time is 4.52

If he runs a legit 4.5 as a TE and can catch the football we have a sleeper here. Still not very big 6-1, 210 lbs.
I'd make him a running back
Well, if L. Ford signs somewhere else that may be a possiblity.

Payden has quite a few Youtube videos posted. Just google his name or search Youtube: Payden McVey. He was a helluva blocker for a primarily running team, but they threw to him when they needed more than a few yards for a first down (around 500 yards for 2010). He won DPHS O Line MVP his Junior year for his pancake and "de-cleater" blocking and he won DPHS Receiver MVP this year (senior) at Deer Park HS for his receiving. They also played him at Def End and Linebacker at times when they needed pressure on the QB. One of only 10 players (out of hundreds nominated) in the entire Houston area selected as a finalist for 2010 Offensive Player of the Year (won by eventual 5A state champ RB from Pearland) and ... Nat Honor Society (very smart kid!). He's just over 6'1", 220, but is very explosive and plays a lot bigger than that. I think he's a real sleeper and great signee for LU!

Yea I think that he signed around the same time Jeremy Johnson did, but could be wrong.
