H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Hull-Daisetta has had so many great players. George Westbrook and Joe Allen Slack were two of the best in my opinion.
H-D BOBCAT 55 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Report Posted February 2, 2011 Sedric Broussard was the best I personally played with. He was so powerful and strong. Great runningback. 6'3 230lbs 4.55 forty ! Almost unstoppable !
AHUDDLESTON Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 I always liked Big Sed. Our girls played LD basketball together.
Guest jacobmccandles Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Joe Allen was even better at basketball.

The game was played in Corsicana in a driving rain storm. Albany won the game 18-12 but Walker was the best player on the field that night, just a little ahead of Albany's Jr RB Johnny Agan. Went on to play for Rice and, if memory serves, several years in the Pro's.
shermdog Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 Gene Walker did go to Rice. He did not go pro. Father in law was a teammate of his.

He was District MVP and First Team All-District. One of the best RB's to come through H-D.

BIGMO44 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 The late Parnell Likes! That guy was a load! The year we moved up to 2A HD moved down from 3A and if I remember right, HD went on to win the State Title. I believe that was 1979?? Anyway, Mr Likes was a beast! Good speed and a hard nosed runner!
eagle65 Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 if i remember correctly, when gene walker played, hot dog thompson was the coach. at the time, one of the most successful coaches in the state. from there to orangefield then to anahuac. one of the best of all times.
