WOSgrad Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 The Beaumont Enterprise is quoting Lamar Head Football Coach Ray Woodard who says that the Mustangs and the Bulldogs will play their 2011 season opener at Provost Umphrey.
baddog Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 Didn't make a Lamar game last year. This will be my first time in the stadium. Heard it is nice. This is great for these two teams. Can't wait.

outanup Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 You are correct.... I must be slipping.
w Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 We played at Nederland this past football season. It should be WOS' home field this year.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011 whats with the move? something i dont know?
w Posted February 2, 2011 Report Posted February 2, 2011
whats with the move? something i dont know?
Who knows? LOL We only had 4 home games last year. You would think that would mean we have 6 this year, right? Looks like now we are down to 5 if this story is true.
adminbaberuth Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 I say we play all our home games at Lamar except PNG, that game stays at Ned/PNG. We get a new stadium free of charge, let Lamar keep half the gate.
baddog Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 Since this game was played @ Bulldog stadium last year, this should make WOS the home team. As a Bulldog season ticket holder, how does this affect my home game tickets? I will probably have to pay, which I gladly will, but is there a possibility that Ned could be the home team?
dawgnut Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 It will be an away game either way, at Lamar or in WOS.
football04 Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 This is a great way to promote the new Provost-Humphrey Stadium for those who have not seen it. I think we should move Mid-County madness to Lamar, and move it to a saturday, all day tail gating and 20,000 seats would be great, might even give some who haven't seen a PNG-Nederland game a chance to see what it is all about.
bobbymcgee Posted February 3, 2011 Report Posted February 3, 2011 This will be an upgrade over the WO-S stadium because it actually has bleachers :)

outanup Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 I kinda like the tailgating idea but, MCM is too big a tradition to change.
