geezer Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Maybe the rest of SLC has improved. Also sometimes it is hard to place the impact of some players. Brittney Williams may have had more of an impact than a lot of us thought.
ForeverADog Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 Do you mean Darika Hill or maybe Ashley Crawford? Brittney barely played last year.
AshlyHasBeen Posted February 4, 2011 Report Posted February 4, 2011 Williams was the 4th leading scorer last year avg 9 pts behind Plumley Loyd and Hill

Brittney barely played last year.
Really? The girl might have rubbed some folks the wrong way over her 4 years, but she still finished her career as one of the greatest scorers and rebounders in school history. I would say the signifigant lack of an inside game is the biggest factor in the team not being as dominant this year. Williams and Hill (although Darika would also step out and fire the three ball) gave LU a presence in the paint that could not be ignored by their opponents. Right now they don't have that. Tray is a great defender, but offensively she is not a go to player. This team is obviously still very good and should probably go back to the NCAA tourney, but their lack of a post game will make it more of a challenge than last year.
ForeverADog Posted February 4, 2011 Author Report Posted February 4, 2011 She could barely make it up and down the floor for 10 minutes a game last year. And was to slow to guard anyone defensively. She was great her first couple years but never got really better. Hill was the one we miss the most. And why we have lost 2 conference games.
At least Hill is back in school to earn her degree. Both are valid points as Hill could go inside or hit a 3-pt shot. Williams, was very friendly with the fan's but knees were bad especially last season. Even with a bad season she is in the top 10 is scoring and I believe rebounding as well.
