I still agree with some of the others that Colby, the lefty from Kountze also has a good shot if they make it to the top 3. The kid didn't play for Kountze last year, and he didn't play summer league for Kountze last year either. He played summer and fall for some team down in Katy and came back 6'4", sitting at 86, with some nasty stuff. So nobody has seen this kid for nearly 2 years until now. He may pull it off.
You are high!!!!! I bet he is decent... If he was throwing 86 I would hear about him also why waste his time in kountze of all places?! They will be lucky to get 5th in the dist.
Colby actually touched 87 this summer in Houston. I love how all these people say stuff "if he was throwing 86 I would hear about him". From what I have heard, he has thrown 4 inning so far. 2 hits 10 k's. I may be stupid, but that sounds pretty good to me.
Guest Abraham
Well I will have to see it to believe it and I will be at some kountze games for sure!

Why is it that people on here seem to know everything there is about baseball? Not to mention all of the players too! IMO, it's kinda boastfull to say "If he was throwing 86 I would hear about him." By the way…he averages 86… But you probably knew that already. OLDGREGG
I have never seen the Colby kid play, so I can't argue whether or not he throws as hard as u fellas say. But I will say that if he is throwing 86-87 consistently from the left side then he will be tough to beat in 2a. Mitchell from anahuac is very effective and he doesn't throw quite that hard. I will definitely have to see a kountze game this year

rounder17
Im not saying he consistently throws that. He is about 83-85 and topping out as high as 87.
SportsN3rd
Usually, the closer you get to the State tourney, the easier it is to win MVP.
allball24
I'd say Hunter Haley from Central Heights
strosfan
This is hilarious... the lefty from Kountze was probably throwing 78 -79 at the most against Hardin Jefferson THIS YEAR... As a matter of fact the pitcher from HJ threw harder... Not saying he is not good.. he is nice curveball...
whsalum
Speed is in the holder of the gun ::)If the kid has 80 mph curveball he will be hard to deal with.
SportsN3rd
Insert QuoteI'd say Hunter Haley from Central HeightsBingo... but like I said, it just depends how deep you get. ;D

dontlookforme
Warren is looking pretty good this year lots of new faces and good players might be a good year for Warren.
whsalum
Over the years I've seen some pretty darn good small school pitchers, Beck from Woodville,Douglass from Colmesneil and McCabe from Spurger to name a few. With the season at about the mid way point I haven't seen anyone in 2-a get anywhere close to the mid 80"s.Most of the kids I've seen are throwing 78-79.The kid from Buna, lil lefthander seemed to have real good control of several pitches.I got to see Gray from Warren the other nite and he aslso had real good control of 3 pitches. No dominant hurlers on the small school scene that I've seen this year but definitely some young kids that can keep you in a game. whsalum
Didn't know his name but I was impressed with his control.Whoever called his pitches did a masterful bob of keeping hitters off balance. He didn't throw real hard but the kid could pitch. txtitan72
I have not heard anyone say anything about Warren it maybe because they are just a wale rounded team. (If you ride the back of one player hoping he takes you in to the playoffs, what are you going to do when you get there. Head back.)
