Coach Hooks Recieves Tom Landry Award

At the THSCA Region V Coaches meeting Saturday, at the Merrell Center at Katy High School, Coach Hooks, the Coaching Staff, the School & Community were the recipients of the "Courage In Action Award". This award was for our unwavering display of strong character in the face of an unexpected tragedy in the death of Reggie Garrett. The entire Mustang Staff was recognized as a credit to all the coaches in the State of Texas.

Also, at this meeting, Coach Hooks was also uninamously voted the recipient of the THSCA Region V Tom Landry Award. Nominees for this award must be an active football coach in good standing of the THSCA; have made a significant contribution to the athletes and the game of football in Texas; be a positive role-model for athletes and coaches; bring credit to the coaching profession by his actions and lifestyle; and have been coaching for a minimum of twenty-five years.
