It's very typical for bats to lag at the beginning of the season.. For any team. LU will be fine! Great outing combined by those LU pitchers..

Understandable on the bats at the first of the year, but to only put 1 run across against Akron isn't a good way to start the season. I think they'll be fine.

Akron was 250 out of 301 teams last yr this loss is like losing to pview or grambling!!!

Step away from the ledge.  It's one game.  Plus most people realize that the SLC  is likely a one team in the NCAA tournament league.  They could lose all four this weekend and I'm not sure it's time to panic.

We know it's one game but the last couple of yrs except I think for last yr southland has gotten 2 teams in, it's basically a 2 team league with someone getting a automatic bid

UNLV - I hope you're kidding b/c if not life must be tough.  I mean surely your team doesn't win every game all the time. It's okay to be disappointed but really? Seriously, call Gilligan and tell him he should forfeit the remain 53 regular season games.

Actually, they didn't. Texas State won the conference championship last year, and Lamar won the Conference Tournament. There's a big difference. The tournament only decides who goes as the auto-bid.

Just like a few years ago (maybe 2-3), Texas State won the conference championship and SHSU won the tournament, but both teams were fortunate enough to go to the NCAA tournament.

Well, if I have to choose which one I want to win it is the SLC tournament championship because only once has two teams from the SLC made it to regionals the same year.

[/quote]Lamar had every advantage over the Akron team, including a week of 70 degrees; 30's in Akron.
I'll let the next several games speak for me.

There was a time LU would beat Rice, AM, and even Texas. sigh...
