LU Baseball vs. Akron Updates...LU Falls!!

Cards will be fine.  They have enough depth this year with their pitchers to keep them in games.  They return pretty much their whole starting lineup from last year.  They will be in the hunt this year for the SLC championship.

Like basketball, the expectations for the baseball program are dropping so now we're just happy to be competitive in the SLC and losing to these types of schools seems to be no big deal.

Actually, they didn't. Texas State won the conference championship last year, and Lamar won the Conference Tournament. There's a big difference. The tournament only decides who goes as the auto-bid.

Just like a few years ago (maybe 2-3), Texas State won the conference championship and SHSU won the tournament, but both teams were fortunate enough to go to the NCAA tournament.

Just got word for todays game that Roebuck hit a walk-off in the game against Akron

Yeah looked at the Miss State Live Stat page.  Lamar won 1-0 on Roebucks walk off homer.  So it's two runs scored in 27 innings and four runs given up.  Play Miss St agoin starting at 2:30

Lamar had only 2 hits against Akron. But 1 was a big one. And thats all it takes when your pitchers are throwing shut outs.

Texas can afford  to do that!!! Look at there program compared to lamars, playing in the big 12 and southland is totally different  those games don't hurt Texas!!!

FYI oral roberts has made the ncaa tourney the last 4 years and have been very competitive and brown hasn't even played a game yet this yr.

I actually agree here.. You have to look at overall SOS, not just ooc SOS. Texas State schedules big teams for ooc because conference competition isn't ranked high at all. In order to get a little respect, you have to earn it.
