sportsman04 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Cards will be fine. They have enough depth this year with their pitchers to keep them in games. They return pretty much their whole starting lineup from last year. They will be in the hunt this year for the SLC championship.

coachacola Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Like basketball, the expectations for the baseball program are dropping so now we're just happy to be competitive in the SLC and losing to these types of schools seems to be no big deal.
AshlyHasBeen Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 You are right there was a time they would beat Rice............last year

There's a big difference. The tournament only decides who goes as the auto-bid.Just like a few years ago (maybe 2-3), Texas State won the conference championship and SHSU won the tournament, but both teams were fortunate enough to go to the NCAA tournament.
Which team got the ring that says champions?Oh, Lamar. And don't say that doesn't matter, every TX State player would love to have that ring.

NDFan09 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Just got word for todays game that Roebuck hit a walk-off in the game against Akron
geezer Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Yeah looked at the Miss State Live Stat page. Lamar won 1-0 on Roebucks walk off homer. So it's two runs scored in 27 innings and four runs given up. Play Miss St agoin starting at 2:30
ForeverADog Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Lamar had only 2 hits against Akron. But 1 was a big one. And thats all it takes when your pitchers are throwing shut outs.
Guest baseball25 Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 A win is a Win but u are suspposed to blow out a team like Akron!!!!
ForeverADog Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 And Roebuck just homered again in his first at bat against Miss State.
sportsman04 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Lamar 12 Rice 7...told you they would be fine, just had to wake those bats up
LU Baseball Fan Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Go away Basketball25, no one wants to hear from you. the same garbage year after year......Texas plays 3 teams, Brown, Oral Roberts, and Houston Baptist all ranked 250 and up....Go to there forum and rag on Augie....
Guest baseball25 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Texas can afford to do that!!! Look at there program compared to lamars, playing in the big 12 and southland is totally different those games don't hurt Texas!!!
bball11 Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 FYI oral roberts has made the ncaa tourney the last 4 years and have been very competitive and brown hasn't even played a game yet this yr.
YouCanUseaMint Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011
Texas can afford to do that!!! Look at there program compared to lamars, playing in the big 12 and southland is totally different those games don't hurt Texas!!!
I actually agree here.. You have to look at overall SOS, not just ooc SOS. Texas State schedules big teams for ooc because conference competition isn't ranked high at all. In order to get a little respect, you have to earn it.
