The Buna Cougars are trying for there fifth district championship. The Silsbee Tigers are trying in a new coach and welcoming back two players that are coming back from Tommy John surgery. bruno994
Agreed...should be a good one. Buna has a couple arms hurting, but will come out firing. Good luck to both teams and we'll see you in Silsbee tonight. Go Cougars!!

STiger85
We had several errors tonight. We need to clean them up or it wont matter how good our pitching is.
bruno994
Great job tonight by Lance Brown for the Tigers. Kept the Coogs off balance with a strong fastball and a good offspeed. Cougars, you got some work to do, but keep your heads up, we all knew there was going to be some growing pains this year. Defense will be solid, pitching can't give up the walks and HBP's we did tonight, and the hitting will come around. Get a few of these fresh faces some AB's and we'll be ready in time for district. Thats what this first month is for. Go Cougars, see you in Lumberton later this week.

anonymous_account
Cant get the big head early, gotta get ready for the mighty Chester Yellowjackets from 1A who only struck out 16 times against Kountze. Should be a battle

3amagic
Do you think it was necessary to throw a guy that is capable of striking out 16 hitters a complete game on opening day? Especially with a 7 run lead? Was no one else capable of holding that lead and relieving him in after four of five? 16 k's equals high pitch count too. He had to be well over a hundred after seven complete.

Even though Buna wasn't a very strong opponent Silsbee still wants to start and finish strong.
Guest Ranger83
If Brown wants to make a statement, his coach might want to make sure he's able to go when the game actually counts. Silsbee pitching has seen its fair share of arm problems. No need to do any more than is really necessary this time of year.Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint.By the way, congrats on the win Pug and the rest of the Tigers. Just how far over hundred do you call "well over a hundred". The 15 pitches in the last inning was just about his average per inning.
Rake1
Wow?? 103 pitches in the first game of the season? With that lead?? And staring at a tournament this weekend? Leaves one shaking their head in disbelief. Of course this is only a by standers view, coaches and players know their situations far better than those of us in the stands. Awfully easy to sit back and second guess. I'm sure there is a plan. Still makes you wonder. Either way that's an impressive performance.
