Steven Avery Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Knew he had the stick, wasnt sure he had the glove or maturity. And you are probably right, heard the varsity group is pretty thin minus one pitcher who apparently got shelled last night anyway.
geedad Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 It weird how things are...On the sub-varsity levels sterling has some kids that has played select all there young lives riding pine n pony kids on the field making E's after E's.....There is SOME good kids on varsity there at sterling...

[/quote]My son and I have worked with the freshman at Sterling....Zack Garcia. He is the real deal. Work ethic second to none. Good kid with a good family support system. Big ,strong kid. Mature for a freshman. Can play catcher and pitch also. I've already got him a spot with a summer select team. IMO, this is a name we will be hearing alot in the next few years.
Stewie Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Not sure that "shelled" is what happened. As posted in this thread before, errors are killing this team and staff. The freshman Garcia is the "real deal" and will mature greatly as time goes by. Has made a few errors and has a respectable BA but both will improve with experience at the varsity level.
