ForeverADog Posted February 23, 2011 Author Report Posted February 23, 2011 Bottom 9. Lamar up 12 to 7 after rice homer. 2 outs
geezer Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Gave up four runs in the bottom of the 9th, held on for the win.
JJWooten Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Kudos, had TAMU-CC not upset #7 Texas, this would have been the highlight of the week for the SLC. No reason you two can't share in the spotlight. Great conference wins.
LumberCard Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Great win Cards. I always enjoys seeing our teams beat the "big boys". I hope, as a conference, that there will be a collection of wins this year against top competition and that the league gets multiple bids to the NCAA tournament, not just two. I think there are several teams in this conference that have the pitching depth and the sticks to make noise this year.I think the biggest thing to remember for all of us is that its a marathon, not a sprint. Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy some good baseball into the summer.
puddin tane Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 good job Cards..anybody notice if Fazio from Bmt Kelly was suited up for Rice? coming back from tommy john surgery....
TradinUp BH Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 Quality win for LU. Rice lost 2 of 3 from Stanford, but the Cardinal is usually a baseball powerhouse.02/18/11 vs. Stanford Reckling Park L, 5-3 02/19/11 vs. Stanford Reckling Park W, 7-1 02/20/11 vs. Stanford Reckling Park L, 6-2 02/22/11 vs. Lamar Reckling Park L, 7-12 02/23/11 at Texas State San Marcos W, 11-10
LamarTech Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I work in downtown Houston with some Rice grads. It's been a fun couple of days for this old Cardinal!
bball11 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Rice might be out of the top 25 after this weekend, Rice isn't the powerhouse it once was, lost 15 conference games the last 2 yrs!!! in 2004-2008 they loss a total of 23 games in conference!!! still a descent win though!!!
