Guest jhamilton Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Got my tickets for opening day and hope just maybe they can improve over last year. I am high on Joran Lyles the pitcher but still not conviced that Wallace is the answer at first.
braves24 Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 They should be better than last yr, I agree with you about Wallace! The starting rotation should be solid not too sure about the bullpen though.
Astros7 Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 I agree with both of you, Wallace is going to be the man at first base. Looks like Bullpen by committee but it seems the bullpen by committee has worked for clubs like the Rays and other teams like that. The key will be for the bats to get going at the start. I am worried about going to Philly though to face the gauntlet of Halladay, Oswalt, Lee, or Hamels (any combo of the 3 is deadly). Fast start is the key though. Hopefully some of the new guys (Barmes and Hall) will play well from the get go.

Astros7 Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 I know what you mean maybe that's a direct correlation to our slow starts.
Ruckdad Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Brian McTaggart of astros,.com is reporting that Jason Castro (catcher) is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus and is headed back to Houston, likely for surgery.I don't think he misses a significant portion of the season, but will not be ready for opening day.
Guest jhamilton Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Not sure what we are going to get but here we go............... Wallace should be fun to watch and others as well.

AJ25 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Everyone begged for a big change to be made, for the team to go younger, etc... Well, it's has happened finally. With that being done, expect some lumps. They could end up making a push this season, but I really look for them to be serious contenders within the next 2 years.
baddog Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I think Pence is one of the "old" guys. Oh well, I'll watch because I like the Astros and baseball in general.
ForeverADog Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 I like the move to get younger. With the youth we have we can make a good 5-10 year run once these young guys get their feet wet. Plus, being in the worst division in baseball helps.
Guest jhamilton Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 ya right on the worst division ha ha is pretty bad huh bc look at the reds in the playoffs. our pitching is ok but i think c lee is done. you would think he would loose some weight over the winter? naw lets get bigger.

adminbaberuth Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Blew a 4 run lead in the 9th, stros lose.
Guest Ranger83 Posted April 1, 2011 Report Posted April 1, 2011 Dang! I sure looked at that box score wrong. Thought it was over. Evidently so did the Astros.
