bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 So far this is the best game I've ever seen J'Covan Brown play. He's been red hot. he started out 5-5, 4-4 from deep. at the half he's 5-7 from the floor, 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals to go along with only 1 turnover and 1 foul. 3 of those assists were really good passes, and both steals displayed really good hands.
bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Horns were up 22 in the 1st half, now down 9 with 2:30 left. this game has been really frustrating to watch. the officials have been God awful, and the horns have been just as bad in the 2nd half. During their run to catch up, Colorado's offense consisted of driving into the paint, smashing into as many longhorns as wrecklessly as possible, and then getting two freethrows (except for the THREE NBA continuation 3-point plays they were given). Colorado was in the double bonus after only 8 minutes had gone by in the 2nd half. the only thing that has matched how bad the officials have been is how bad Jordan Hamilton has been. He's made all four of the good looks he's had this game. Unfortunately, he's missed all FIFTEEN of the shots he has forced. J Brown has also been bad in the 2nd half, forcing shots and showing his frustration, a complete turnaround from the 1st half. Gary Johnson has missed about 7 freethrows in the 2nd half. It's been very reminicent of the horns from last year, with a bunch of individuals trying to do too much. I'd be surprised if Texas has 4 assists in the second half.
bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Horns back with in 4 somehow with 30 seconds left. looking for a comeback as stunning as the one that came up just short at nebraska.
bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Hamilton has hit a couple of late 3s, Horns down 2 with 14 ticks left.
bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 20 second half fouls on the horns. maybe 5 to stop the clock towards the end of the game. Colorado is going to win this one.
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 rather lose now than lose in March IMO. not like were going for an undefeated record in conference now
bullets13 Posted February 26, 2011 Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 Texas loses 91-89. They also just lost their #1 seed, as well as a shot to play tourney games in San Antonio in the leadup to the final four in Houston.

Duke, Ohio St, and Pitt are virtual locks. BYU, and possibly Purdue, Arizona or ND if they win their conference championships would all have a good shot to get it over 5-loss Texas, even if they DO beat Kansas in the Big 12 tourney. Texas is likely to drop to #9 or #10 in the country now, and i don't see them moving up enough to get a #1 seed.

[/quote]They aren't still the #1 seed for the tourney as of now - they would need to beat Kansas again. After losing to Nebraska & Colorado in successive weekends it doesn't look like Kansas has anything to worry about. Looks like Texas chose to succumb to the pressure a little later than last year.

Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 KU better hope they get their suspended player back if not they might not make the big 12 semifinals IMO
