Attended the game tonight. I will stick to my prediction from a couple of months ago. Jeremy Johnson WILL be the starting QB for Lamar this season.

I left at the end of 3rd quarter. Who ended up winning, white or red?
I think Johnson #1  prewitt #2  and Powdrill(sp?) is a good reciever and looks like they may have a running game.jmo

I attended the game too...I saw Prewitt as the better all around QB, then a close one with Bevil and JJ...Lamar's weakest part on defense is the safety position...Garrett played the 4th qtr at safety(made it better), but appears he has been moved up to "joker"....

Jr was invited to the scrimmage and after, was invited as a preferred walk on...he will be attending Lamar in the summer.

Congratulations and welcome to Lamar. The Cardinals are getting a great athlete and super leader.

Hopefully, he'll be a proud alum one day!

If you just look at the stats JJ had the better game but Bevil made two rushing TD's. I say they still don't know who the starting QB will be once fall gets here.

I guess I see the game a bit different...the throws outside were good...the ones over the middle were the one I saw floating a bit, were Prewit was throwing darts inside, out and on the run...JJ has the speed no doubt, but Prewit was no turtle either...I guess you'd have to get creative as an OC....#11 looked ok too.

Jr will come in and compete for the safety position...they said, not that he couldn't compete at QB, but it's what the team needs right now and they feel he can help...I'd love for him to get back on that side of the ball....and instead of receiving those hard shots from DL-men and blitzing LB's...he may be able to deliver some shots this fall!

What I am most interested in knowing is not how the QB's performed but how did the O-line and D-line look as well as the Linebackers, DB's etc.  Does the team look like they are getting stronger, bigger, quicker and in better shape?  Do the players look like they are understanding the offensive and defensive schemes better?  These are the things that will make the real difference next year.

What mffl is saying is that Coach Hinshaw may be getting the boot and Coach Woodard will take over play calling duties.
Hinshaw is the D-coordinator.  I would think that LU would have to bring in another D-coordinator as they would need another top quality coach on staff.

Will Jr have access to the weight and training room and working out with team this spring and summer.  I would think that woud be a huge benefit to him.
Rey it is obvious that JJ will never impress you and you know why. It has alot to do with your son's junior year and JJ's senior year. They both were finalists for the Willy Ray Smith Award and JJ won. let it go. You saw the same game everyone saw. You know there were not any floaters across the middle and there are not any perfect plays when the lights are on. Kids are taught to just make a play. Whoever is starting QB, it will be hard to keep JJ off the field, when he is obviously one of the best players on the team. Keep it real man. Your son will do well on the college level. You don't have to hold a grudge against JJ.

Coach Woodard split his team up as evenly as possible by allowing his staff to draft players. All of the possible Offensive and Defensive starters were not on the same team. Therefore, the staff got to see each player adapt to playing beside a player that may have been a 2nd or 3rd teamer during spring practice. The kids played hard and with alot of passion. When they put it all together in the fall, LU fans will have a great deal to cheer about.
