bruno994
Cardiac Cougars are back!!! Jacob 'Cub' Clark K'd 13 for the Cougars while allowing 3 hits in 7 innings, along with knocking home the winning run with an infield roller to win game 1 of the 2011 23-AA district race. Hardins' pitcher, #5 pitched a solid game, not sure on the number of k's, but he had quite a few, and allowed only 1 hit, keeping the Coogs off balance and swinging late all night. Cougars had a couple errors both physical and mental, combined with a couple Hardin hits in the first to allow all 3 runs to score for the Hornets. Buna scrapped back with a sac fly in the second to score Blake Hale after a walk and a passball. Hardins' pitcher kept his no-no going until the bottom of the 6th when with 2 on and 2 out, 2 strikes, Hale singled home Sawyer McCauley to get within one and get the first hit of the night. Clark went out and handled the Hornets one more time in the top of 7, adding to his K total once again. Glenn Patrick led of the bottom of the 7th, reaching base on a close play at first, following a K, Justin Yoes reached base on a walk, putting runners on first and second. Kale Terrier, master of the bunt, sac bunted the runners over, but that was not enough for Coach T, as he sent Patrick to home on the bunt and thanks to a bad throw and drop by the catcher, Patrick scored to tie the contest. That set up a 2 out, runner on third situation for Clark, always a threat to smash a hit, this time contact got the job done. A slow roller to the left side of the infield, with Yoes moving from third on contact, and a close play, but a dropped ball allowed Clark to reach safely and Yoes to cross the plate to secure the win for the Cougars. Way to fight back Buna, let's not make 'em all this interesting. Have a good weekend in the Kirbyville tourney guys!!

bruno994
He threw very good. And stayed strong, didn't seem to lose any velocity through the game.

BrEaK_eM_OfF
Lol im jus sayin....any lead is never comfortable against the Coogs. Win the close ones... helps you mature as a team.
bruno994
If a few of the Coogs big sticks ever break loose and find their groove, they will dominate, but until then, just keep small ballin' and winning the close ones guys. Once again great comeback, you pumped up a good size crowd for a Wednesday night rescheduled game. 7 in a row....Cardiac Coogs.....
