There was a Reggie White out of Liberty a few years ago. He did go onto a D1 school, I can't remember which one. Don't know if he is in the pro's are not though.

I found this:

Reggie White, Liberty High School Panthers football legend, returned home and joined The Vindicator as sports reporter. The 1997 LHS graduate was the first Liberty County product to play in the National Football League, joining the New York Jets in 2000 after a successful three-year career at Oklahoma State University. Besides the Jets, White played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers in the NFL and the Edmonton Eskimos in the Canadian Football League.

According to the Museum of the Gulf Coast:

Coach O.A. "Bum" Phillips was born in Orange, Texas, attended high school in Beaumont, played football at Lamar Junior College, and was the head football coach at Nederland and Port Neches-Groves before taking the Houston Oilers to the AFC Championships twice.

Also from the Museum of the Gulf Coast:

Coach Wade Phillips was born in Orange, Texas, the son of former NFL head coach Bum Phillips. He attended Port Neches-Groves High School and went on to be a three-year starter at linebacker at the University of Houston under head coach Bill Yeoman. Phillips began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1969, then coached at Orange High School for three years before moving to Oklahoma State in 1973 and Kansas in 1975.

Greg Hill of the KC Chiefs did not attend WO-S.

WO-S pros that I can think of:

Kevin Smith, Dallas Cowboys (started on three SB champs)

Chris Cole, Denver Broncos

Giles Cole, Minnesota Vikings

Ernie Ladd, Oilers, Chargers, Chiefs

Ernest Anderson, Detroit Lions

Jay Canizaro, SF Giants

Bruce Aven, various MLB teams

Andre Robertson, Yankees

John Patterson, Nationals

Kerry Bennett-RB Wos

Was drafted by the Washington Redskins, but had to retire early on because of a knee injury.

Leland Douglas graduated from Ozen, went to Baylor on a football scholarship, and then played receiver for the Dolphins during the Dan Marino era. Now he coaches at LCM.

I graduated w/ Kerry. Was he drafted? I thought he signed as a free agent, but I guess that certainly still qualifies him.

Also, Kendall Cleveland signed with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent.

Greg Hill went to Dallas Carter' date=' then A&M.[/quote']

Wrong Greg Hill... That one was a RB. The Greg Hill that went to WOS was a DB, and he played college at Oklahoma State. He played in the pros from 83-88 -- mostly with KC, but he played at Houston his rookie year and played with the Raiders the year before his retirement.

Here's one from Little Cypress HS:

Joe Bob Isbell -- he played college ball at UH and was a lineman for the Cowboys from 62-66.
